RB TreVeyon Henderson (Official Thread)

This was just my best attempt at a joke. Obviously I don't think he would sit, because of this.
I do think he should be thrown to at least a few time a game.

And that play was clearly successful last year with basically the same personnel — if not better on the OL. The coaches are aware, I promise you. It will be called when they think it will benefit them most.

It seems like you don’t realize the luxury this staff has. The don’t have to empty the cupboards to get wins — and big wins for that matter. You’re seeing that with play calling _and_ who they put on the field. I get that YOU want to see that play. Maybe the coaches do too… but maybe they want to see that play when it matters as opposed to entertaining you. Trust the coaches to call the play when it’s right for them.

Yup. @Gunlife give it a reSt, none of us are coaches on this board. And yes, most of us want to see Henderson in the passing game like last year, but like @sparcboxbuck said, we don’t have to show that play yet. We have so many weapons that I’m fine if Henderson doesn’t get a pass thrown his way for most of the season. If that means the guys catching a majority of the passes are:
Egbuka, MHjr, Fleming, Ballard, Stover, Rossi and Scott Jr
Then I’m sure we’re all fine with that. And then being able to batter teams with the legs of Henderson and Williams, it’s all a win win

IMO a significant difference this yr vs last
He hesitates to assess his holes... but hesitates too long and the defense reacts
He doesn't explode immediately which would highlight his best asset
Agree. I mentioned it a couple of different times to some friends I text with during games. He is having a Dobbins like sophomore year, it seems to me. Trying to find the homerun rather than taking the yards that are there. Hit the hole and go. I'm not sour on Tre, to be clear... and if he has a Dobbins like Jr season... well... I'm here for that!

Exactly. He does very well when a hole that is big enough to drive a car through opens. He might need to forget all the hype that has been laid at his feet after those first few games last year. He seems to over-think himself as he keeps looking for the home run, and doesn't always take advantage of smaller but still great opportunities at hand, as a result. Watching film, he must realize what he is doing, and I also believe that he will get this right.

He has Gibbs type speed but watching the two is night and day as they hit the hole. He can change a game if he believes he can by just stepping on the gas

Treveyon is almost starting to remind me of a improved version of Brandon Saine. Big track guys, but tend to have nagging injuries and leave us on the edge of our seats. Plus both could be used in the passing game. I’m hoping that he ends his career healthy, and becomes one of the greats, but right now he has a guy sharing carries with him that is a powerful runner, much like Boom was to Saine(Zoom).

Saine was actually pretty powerful his issue was he had no wiggle at all. Straight line speed for days. But make him stop and cut back nope
