I've been going to get around to calling a good friend for some time. I put a note in my diary last week to call him but things just got so rushed. So, it's in there for next week. It's been a year and we go way back and helped each other through some really bad times. He really helped me get settled into business.

His son called me today to ask for some advice and I told him to let his Dad know I'm calling next week. He told me his Dad had died before Christmas. Had untreatable and inoperable cancer and died just four weeks after being diagnosed. It happened so fast they didn't know who knew, who to call, what to do and then he was buried and gone.

Guys, call those friends tonight, okay? Cause this is really is not nice.

WOW, that really sucks. I am sure we all have those freinds from HS and college that we promised never to lose touch of. I know I do, and it has been about 2 yrs since I have talked to him. Fuck he was the best man at my wedding and my kids godfather. My condolences, and thanks for the wake up call.

Wow. I'm sorry to hear that. I've got a couple of friends like that- we were inseperable for a long time, and have now drifted apart. I frequently find myself saying that I should call them. I'd better get to it....

My best friend's wife died quickly from cancer several years ago.
I did not know for months.
This is one of the guys I hunt with and we make an effort to at least call each other once a month or so now.
Another guy who has had troubles in life has rejoined our group.
As his dad says, you never know when you won't have the chance to call.
