Going to be working on this on and off all day. Have already done the heavy lifting, and just need to build in the payment handlers.

I'm going to be handling things a little differently going forward. A number of people have suggested that it would help if there was a breakdown, and the new software will let me run simultaneous drives. Which is to say you could choose to put your money towards X (a defined purpose) as opposed to Y (a different defined purpose) and so on. If nothing else it will better demonstrate how it's being used. I also have an idea about a BP philanthropic effort, but more on that later.

Anyway, if you go to donate today you'll get an error message. It will be back up shortly.
 
It's always been an issue of reactive spending rather than proactive, but I think it's important that people have the decision to give only to (for example) colocation fees and not administrative fees, or software/engineer/contractors and not the Russian hooker fund. Particularly as I try to nose toward BP doing something particularly special as a community (and we'll all have a discussion about that and shape it together), I wanted the flexibility that the old software didn't afford.

Well they have, hence the reactive rather than proactive stance. A need would present, I'd react with donation funds -- then Svetlana, Tatiana, Oksana (or sometimes all three) would help me with "upgrades". Proactive would have them on-call through the site, and add Dmitri for our female users.

It's all fancy technology.

There shouldn't be, though old recurring payment options will have to be managed at PayPal directly, whereas new ones may be handled here (I believe) for both PayPal, Stripe, and Authorize.net (we now support more than just PayPal for electronic wins). The only option that doesn't support recurring payments is BitPay (which is also now fully configured), for you l33t h4x0r types into the cryptocurrencies.

Stripe handles Bitcoin, I'm going to drop BitPay for the time being. Thanks much to those who participated in the scUM loss pool, I had hoped I'd be able to test the new system soon after the backend work and you all came through.

I'm trying to tweak it so that banners are given automatically, but this system is already much more streamlined than the last. Auto or not, they'll come faster.
