Recruiting and Wstripes

casey_buckeye

3rd time is a charm! Miami in January!
Not to be negative, but why does everyone continue to ignore what wstripes and the usc gurus say? I think they have shown in the past that they have inside info better than anyone.....Also, I don't understand why recruits like to play games with OSU and coach Tressel?? Fred Davis, Dwayne Jarrett, Jason Gwaltney, Stanley McClover, Richard Washington, Rico McCoy, etc...

recruits don't play games with Tressel. It happens at every single school out there. You just think it's bad because it's what you are exposed to.

What fun is that? Why follow recruiting if you never get your hopes up? The disappointments make the successes that much sweeter.

Nobody is ignoring Stripes...

You follow your heart and let everyone else do the same.

Not ignoring Wstripes and USC gurus... what is wrong with guarded optimism??? I have to grab at something positive in the remaining recruits that haven't committed yet.

I agree it is no fun if you don't keep your hopes up, but when Gwaltney announces I think we are all going to look back at the signs and say "Of course, how could we have thought otherwise".

If I were starting the vBet over I would make the OSU odds 50-1 at this point.

But, to paraphrase Chicken Run:

wstripesy (aka Bunty): That is the most fantastic *load of tripe* I've ever heard! The chances of 'you landing Gwaltney' (aka escaping) are a million to one.
Buckeye Nation (aka Ginger): Then there's still a chance.

Whenever he does decide, you can put a fat 1000 in the v-book that this thread will have 10 pages added of nothing but "Why can't Tressel close the deal with anyone???"..despite getting Mo Wells, it won't matter to those people.

Well, why can't he? Seriously though, Wells was a good get. However, if he can't keep Worthington and we don't sign anyone else, when is it ok to start questioning his late-season recruiting?

Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful we have a coach that's a stronger coach than recruiter, but why isn't JT perfect?
