Reds' Opening Day thread...

The man does nothing. He doesn't hussle, doesn't steal, doesn't score...I mean the manager needs to worry about keeping everyone else happy instead

Of course, if he had gotten down a sac bunt like he was supposed to do, the run wouldn't have scored....but I'll look past that for now. :tongue2:

If the pitchers can just somehow manage an ERA of 6.00, MAYBE they can finish the season within shouting distance of .500.

(The above is perhaps one of the saddest statements about any baseball team in the history of the game.)

If we oculd find a staff tha managed a 4.0 era we would be talkin wild card.

Or look at it like this.

We just had 20 Hits including 5 HR's and scored 15 runs in 2 games and avoided being 0-2 by the skin of our teeth.

Thats because we gave up 25 hits, 4 HR and 22 runs in that same span.

Over a season you cannot even play .500 ball with a negative run differential. Its math, you can't overcome it. Score as much as you want to but if the other guys are scoring more your going to lose more often than not.

These first 2 games will be our season in microcasim. Tons of offense but not nearly enough to overcome terrible pitching and defense. I stand by my pre season 90+ loss prediction.

Don't even get me started on Freel losing PT to Woe-mack and company.
