Report: NBA studying flopping

Exhibit A could be DWade's Oscar winning performance he put on in the Finals last year...

DWade's in trouble if this rule is implemented. He'll become a mediocre NBA player overnight. While we're on the subject, I've noticed an increase in flopping in college basketball. I propose a similar study in that game. The study should commence at Duke University, the #1 perpetrator IMO.

ive said for a long time a flop should be a foul plus return the ball to the team.

so for example team a has the ball, player a (on team a) drives to the hoop, team b is defending and player b (on team b) flops as he takes a charge. fould on player b, with the result of the play (and 1, 2 shots, or ball) and no matter the outcome return the ball to team a.

this will end flopping overnight, sure teams will bellyache, but you can tell a flop from a foul. and if teams are threatened with that kind of penalty no coach in his righ tmind will teach flopping. the said thing is its taught at all levels of the game...

They need to do the same thing for the intentional foul, when guys get bear-hugged, etc. under the basket. Return the flow to the game, and have the penalty carry a negative impact on the one breaking the rule.
