I read "it" again. Yes, really, your sentence is faulty.

I usually ignore spelling and grammatical errors on the theory that they are a result of haste or are merely typos. I am too often guilty of similar gaffs. I find that it's best not to draw more attention to such mistakes by defending them.

Perhaps Michigan fans can apply this lesson to other areas. Defending obvious mistakes makes no sense.
