I agree with all this. And now I know why I never could stand Chuck Knoblick!

Dubs: "Like, "I take both to give me power in both sticks" or "I take this one to hit homers on the field and this one to hit homers off the field."

Dubs, we've known each other a long time. Don't knock the Big V until you try it. Trust me on this one.

Knobby was a better 2B than Kent during his prime with Minnesota. Look at Chuck's best year: 140 R, 197 H, 35 2B, 14 3B, 45 SB, 98 BB, .341 AVG, .448 OBP, and a Gold Glove. Now that's a helluva player. People forget how good he was because he wasn't a shell of his former self (offensively or defensively) in New York.

Clemens is actually one of the guys who can have the steroid rap & still make the HOF on the first ballot. But this would be the biggest news in baseball since the Pete Rose scandal (if true). I mean, this would be a shocker.

Clemens and Damon - they are just dragging their feet becasue they have no idea how to deal with this - went to the Mets game last night vs Pirates - they both suck - but all the talk was about clemens and damon

Clemens getting suspended would be poetic justice. For the life of me, I will never understand why the scumbag wasn't tossed from the World Series when he threw a bat at an opposing batter. It pretty much showed how cowardly the MLB and the umpires act towards star players. If, lets say, Jose Lima had thrown a bat at a player would be have been tossed? Of course. I lost all respect for baseball after that.

I have only heard about Damon on this board. Is he totally part of the talk? I am trying really hard to ignore any mention of him, but even as a Sox fan it is getting harder. . .

According to Jason Stark on "The Mike and Mike Show" there is going to be another positive steroid announcement in the next couple of days and the guy is supposedly a bigger name than Rafael Palmeiro.

Anyone wanna take a guess as to who that person is?

well, it's been 8 days, so it looks like Stark (as usual) has been full of shit.

I've been wondering about this too.

This rumor has been going for around 2-3 weeks now and nothings came of it. Was kind of hoping some more suspensions would happen.

Guess it was all made up. Unless the hearings are still going on or MLB is just covering it up completely.

Johnny Damon?? Does this mean that the Curse of the Bambino was never legitimately lifted?

Tibbs: "If, lets say, Jose Lima had thrown a bat at a player would be have been tossed?"

Hard to say. It all depends on the Umpire. Remember when Clemens was tossed in the 1st Inning of a playoff game (against Dave Stewart & the A's in 1990) for telling "F U" towards home plate?

Clemens didn't have the pinstripes on in 1990. The Curse even affects the umps. :wink2:

I was actually pissed when he got tossed from that game. I set my day aside to watch the Clemens-Stewart match up, and it was blown up within an hour.

The game (if I remember correctly) ended up being a blowout.
