I may be the only one who thinks this...but I feel like the winner of this game more so than ever will be catipulted to the top of the polls for next year...I see both of these teams being extremely good next year even though scum loses a lot of its defense

Maybe the UCLA game left me rather cynical but does anyone else think Michigan has a good shot of taking USC to the woodshed in this one? I mean, I know it won't happen because LLLLLoyd is on the Michigan sideline, but if UCLA's defense can bring the heat and completely disrupt the Trojan offense, the scUM D should have their way. Either way, I'm surprised the line is so close.

I think it depends on how much attention Pete Caroll paid to The Game, how USC's defense performs, and how Booty performs.
USC could easily use the same 4 and 5-wide sets we used. Smith, Jarrett, Turner, and others could make it a long day for Mr. Trent and the scUM secondary yet again.
Where I see USC faltering, is that Booty is nowhere near as good as Troy Smith and he gets rattled pretty easily. Their undersized/hybrid LB/Safeties could also let Hart and Long tear them up on the ground all day.
Finally, without that selecto-slip (c) grass, Manningham will be able to jump 10 feet in the air to catch all those over-thrown balls from Henne. While I'm on him, if Henne doesn't lay any eggs Michigan should win this by about a TD.
