Rose Bowl, Wisconsin +2.5 vs TCU (ov/un 58.5) Jan 1 5:10 ET, ESPN

Michigan State was never a legitimate BCS team in the BigTen this year.
Well then, how'd they get to be conference tri-champs? Coin flip, lottery draw?
They played decent through the season, being helped by the fact that they snuck one past Wisconsin
How do you 'sneak up' on a conference team unless you're Indiana?
Michigan State went in over estimating their own talent, and left humiliated.
I'll give you the humiliated part. Let's be honest here, that Alabama team was loaded with talent and had just blown a 24 point lead to their equivalent of TSUN 4 weeks before. They came to play.

Wisconsin .... well Wisconsin I can't stop shaking my head over ... this wasn't the same Wisconsin team that played Ohio State. They fought hard, but their defense wasn't near on the level as it was against Ohio State.
What, did they move the school? Did they change uniforms? Did half the o line enter into pre draft agreements with agents making them ineligible? It's simple: they got outplayed, out coached, something Ohio State wasn't able to do. For whatever reasons Wisconsin chose to try and run wide, failed to pass protect, and played an extremely soft zone that a good QB tore apart -- largely because Wisconsin failed to put the same pressure on him that they put on Pryor.

It's a sad day when Northwestern (without Dan Persa) was the only team with a shot at the win in a bowl game on New Years Day at the end of the game. And Illinois and Iowa being the only two wins so far ... Illinois!! Ouch.

Totally agree, but doesn't this concession run counter to the previous statements?

The film of this game will be a clinic on shitty tackling.

I'm not sure who we played on Oct 16, 2010 but it was NOT the same team that showed up in Pasadena Jan 1

I have only witnessed such tackling watching my neighbors son play Pop Warner this fall

In the time honored (post PSU membership) way of not playing of Ohio State.

See: Northwestern 1995, 1996, 2000; Wisconsin 1998; Iowa 2002

So you're saying the Big 10 is a one horse show?

We didn't play MSU year in and year out before Penn State -- and given some of those Duffy Daugherty teams I'm glad.

Recently I have been rooting for the big ten teams and all it does is make me angry and disappointed.

Time to go back doing what I used to do by just rooting against them all.

Fuck Wiscy, Fuck Penis State, Fuck Sparty, and most importantly Fuck TSUN.

Ha, exactly what I said on January 2nd. It's much easier to do that for fans in SEC land. They've had 4 different teams play for an NC (including Auburn this year) within 5 years. The B10 just isn't that good in the postseason and it's not worth getting mad over anymore. Can't wait until tomorrow!

Not at all. Just because Ohio State has won or shared the Big Ten titles ten times in the past 18 years doesn't make it a one horse show.

But if you are crowned as a Big Ten champion without having to face the team that has consistently been the best in conference it should raise some questions as to just how good you really are.

Wisconsin, Penn State, Iowa, Illinois, Purdue & TSUN have all managed to play Ohio State AND win Big Ten titles over the same time frame.

TCU?s Rose Bowl rings are not for the faint of heart (or finger)

No doubt about it: These are fat times for TCU. So how do the Horned Frogs celebrate their first perfect season in 72 years and their first Rose Bowl win ever? By ordering up the fattest rings the human finger can physically support, of course:

The side view at Angry Trey's Blog puts the size into even better perspective. Yes, it's big, but this is not the time for humility.
The only possible complaint: No sign of the vaunted Horned Frog anywhere, a snub the rings share with the new helmets and uniforms the university unveiled earlier this week. I'm sure these priceless keepsakes are going to do great business on eBay, regardless, but do not forsake the blood-spurting amphibian that has served so faithfully throughout your rise from the leftover bin of the Southwestern Conference and the depths of the WAC, TCU. Dance with the Frog what brung you.
