Rugby (6N, Rugby Championship, IRB 7s, etc.)

Now we play the waiting game until the World Cup. Sucks that there isn't a major tournament between the 6 Nations and the Cup :pimp:.
This weekend is the final weekend of the Pro14 regular season. Lot of big matches including Glasgow/Edinburgh, Munster/Connacht and Cardiff Blues/Ospreys.

Then on 5/11 you've for the Heineken Cup championship between Leinster/Saracens.

Two big sevens stops left with the USA leading the table. London on 5/25-5/26 and then Paris the following weekend.

Springboks crushed the Wallabies. A couple of Australian guys were PennStating after the game (i.e., refs missed a few calls, improper yellow card gave the Boks 14 points), but the high tackle yellow card against the Boks was the same application of the rules, which was consistent.

Springboks have looked like stewed crap for more than a year. They looked better yesterday than they have for some time. The rookie Jantjies, younger brother of another Bok, had a really impressive start. So, we will see.

All Blacks hung on against Argentina. They looked like they were looking ahead to the Springboks next week, also resting a few key players, I think. SA NZ is The Game in rugby. Look for blood to flow!

The Guardian recap said the Wallabies dominated the first half but just made some crucial mistakes to let the Boks take the halftime lead. Don't get me wrong, the more of a clown show Australia is, the better for Wales in September.

Next weekend should be good. Going into the World Cup, my rankings would be:

  1. NZ
  2. Wales
  3. England
  4. SA/Ireland
  5. Scotland/Australia (they always seem to pull it together in a WC)
  6. Everyone else.

Let's see if the Boks can juggle that list up next weekend.

The Boks are back. Forget the tied score. NZ scored its last points on a penalty kick that never should have been awarded because of a knock-on. They are back.

Dios Mio, Man. I see you rolled your way into the semis. One thing that's been proven this year is that this is not an all-powerful, everyone else playing for second place All Blacks team. The WC is going to be wide open.

Color me unimpressed by the Wallabies win at home against Argentina though. I'm guessing an angry NZ team comes out and curb stomps them in two weeks. That pool is still going to be Wales' to lose.
