Rutgers at tOSU, November 7th, 7 pm on BTN

4 observations - blame it on the pain killers or whatever (daughter hit a liner off my kneecap today and dislocated it, my leg is FUCKED right now) but this game sucked.

1. This offense lacks identity in the running game. WHY do they do the read option look if Fields is going to keep it less than 0.000000001% of the time? Rutgers wasn't even LOOKING at him on his fakes. Maybe Coach Day is crazy like a fox but then again, maybe it's just not in the playbook. And if it's not in the playbook, this running scheme has been proven to not work very well (see 2018)

2. The offensive line tonight was atrocious for long stretches. They are MUCH better than that and admittedly they showed they could be better at times but it was super inconsistent. Lack of reps? Lack of intensity? Who knows. More on that after my next point.

3. What in the actual fuck is going on with the defensive backfield? Bad angles, super soft coverage, no intensity and very little physicality. I don't know if it's because they are young and lack depth or whatever but the aggressiveness is not there and as we know, if you're not aggressive, you're going to be a step slow. It showed tonight. It showed last week. Honestly it showed a few times against Nebraska. If they give Blondie and what's his face playing QB for Bama this much room to operate they will literally not stop them once. This has to change. Not only does that look like what we saw in 2018, it brings back bad memories of Everett Withers and the 2013 season too.

4. The intensity is lacking or at least is inconsistent. Fields is a special player. He has the running ability of Miller and the passing ability of Haskins. But this team has this annoying tendency to coast. That's not gonna cut it.

Yawn all you like. :roll1:

Beating PSU 38-25 and Rutgers 49-27 are hardly signs of beating teams like Alabama, Clemson, and a few others.

No one has been talking about that, at all, during this game, and it's been the only thing you've posted about for the 2nd half. We get it, you're running into a brick wall over and over again at this point.
