Rutgers @ tOSU, Sat Oct 1, 3:30pm, BTN

If Stroud exceeds 200 yards vs Rutgers, he will tie Haskins' record of 14 consecutive games passing for 200+. He will also tie a record shared by Hoying and Schlichter of 17 consecutive games of 100 yards passing or more.

That is some damn good company right there. Schlichter was before my time, but Hoying is the first QB I can remember watching and loved watching him play. Cheers to seeing the record tied , I have zero doubts it will.

That's... um.... very surprising that Barrett or Troy never got those streaks. Pryor never got those streaks? Miller? Even Craig Krenzel didn't get 100+ yards in 17+ games?

Yeah... I was going by what the Official Record Book says (a PDF available at ohiostatebuckeyes.com)

Going through the game-by-game stats it's clear, the record book is hilariously wrong. It has a bunch of mistakes that it's been carrying for decades, like the tackle numbers for Spielman, Marek, Cousineau etc. But this one of the more "how the heck do you get THAT wrong" things that I've seen.

I won't delete the post, but just pretend it doesn't exist. It doesn't break the top 5 of the wrongest things I've ever posted so... whatever

Well, I haven't proven you wrong. I just looked up 2002 and 2003 seasons.
https://ohiostatebuckeyes.com/football-statistics/2002-football-season/
https://ohiostatebuckeyes.com/football-statistics/2003-football-season/

According to the box scores, He failed to reach 100 yards passing against Cincinnati (Game 4), succeeded every game past that (Games 5-14 - that's 10 consecutive games), then succeeded against Washington to start 2003, but failed against San Diego State (Game 2). So he only made it 11 games. Even if he passed for 100 yards in the remaining games, that's a streak of only 11 more games, and I'm pretty sure he sat out against Northwestern, so it's only 10 more games. Very surprised about Krenzel not making it 17+ games at 100+ yards.

If I choose to keep looking, maybe I'll see if I can figure out Smith's, Pryor's, Miller's, and Barrett's numbers.

Fields went way past that number. He was at 22 as near as I could tell.
