S/LB Tyler Moeller (official thread)

If Kirk Ferentz and Jin Tressel offer a linebacker hes a stud. Its no coincidence that OSU and Iowa have top rated linebacking corps. The kid is the real deal and will get showcase his abilities early in the season vs. one of if not the best team in Texas. Gibson, Moeller, Homan, and an OOS linebacker would be arguably the best linebacker class in the country.

Don't forget Lenix being in there. I think he may go to safety but if he gains some weight may be a LB. So we would have Gibson,Homan,Lenix,Moeller, and possibly Navarro Bowman. Not too shaby.

grad...any word yet on Tennessee coming through with an offer for Tyler? That could complicate things for OSU.
Nothing I've heard thus far. Honestly, I think tOSU is hard to beat right now...there was certain tone in his voice when tOSU was discussed when we interviewed him. That is my gut feeling FWIW.

grad...sounds positive for OSU. I will take your gut feeling over some other so called experts anyday.

If the reports of Connor Smith are accurate, that can only help at this point.

Tyler is not a new name at all...just a new offer.
Well, relatively new, compared to many other current OSU recruits: his thread did just open up in June. :)

But I'm excited about the future of the Buckeye defense that this thread refers to, and I think it seems likely Moeller will commit soon after Smith if he really does commit this weekend.

As LJB points out, that Pool article is very misleading. On none of the statements about his leader are actual quotes from Tyler. In addition, that interview wasa from early last week before Tyler's visit to OSU on Friday.

Pool actually gives us no consideration other than "being close to home". Gimme a break..

After reading H&G's last update and with Smith's commitment, I would say our chances are much better than Pool is mentioning.

It's gonna be REALLY hard to not go to OSU consider how good of friends he is with Connor. Who knows, maybe he'll be caught up in the excitement and verbal to OSU too soon, before Tennessee offers.

There is no better place to play linebacker than OSU... and we definitely could use your speed Tyler. Bring those fierce hits to Columbus.

Tyler was in Columbus yesterday and met with Tressel and the coaching staff...He also got a sit down with Bobby Carpenter.

Tyler came away from his visit very impressed (He had never been in Ohio Stadium before and was a bit in awe)...He really liked his visit and Ohio State.

Right now, I'd lay even money that Tyler will be a Buckeye based upon my conversations with him and others.

Go Bucks!
And the the Colrain pipeline for scUM takes a HUGE blow this week...AS IT SHOULD. H&G, are we seeing a turning of the tide? Is our future as bright as percieved?

PS...Many Colrain players probably going to the Texas game.

well...as I said in a post on another thread...I wouldn't call Colerain a direct pipeline to scUM..the truth is, Colerain has sent more kids to Cincinnati then they have sent to any other school under Kerry Coombs. Mixon, Askew and Simpson to scUM and Smith and Kelly to tOSU...This is just me being honest, but OSU did not heavily recruit any of the players from Colerain that went up north. Askew got a little attention and Mixon may or may not have had an offer and Simpson didn't get a sniff (which was totally understandable given the other players at RB that OSU was recruiting)

The pipeline for kids like Tyler to finally get an OSU offers have to start with tOSU's coaching staff...Colerain was ignored for various reasons..both real and false...the 'false' reason was that it was believed that Coombs only steered his kids up north. That just isn't true. But now that JT is in charge and is fearless and tireless in his recruiting of our state, He has made a solid relationship with Coombs at Colerain. Kerry's door is always open and he ALWAYS fights for his kids to get scholarships. Now that the 'Colerain to scUM' myth has been put to bed, I expect future Colerain products to follow Connor Smith (and hopefully Tyler) to Columbus...Its a beautiful day in Southwest Ohio...and Colerain couldn't be more proud of its home grown talent!
