Sad, car wreck over weekend.......

Legend
I just found out today that a kid that went to my school, was involved in a car wreck over the weekend. He died.....

One person is dead after an accident in northeast Columbus just after midnight Saturday.

It happened on Billiter Boulevard and E. 26th Avenue. 16-year-old Jovan Butcher and 18-year-old Yerion Williams were driving in a stolen vehicle at a high rate of speed, when Butcher, the driver, lost control of the car and crashed into a tree.

When medics arrived the car was wrapped around the tree. Jovan Butcher was pronounced dead at the scene. Yerion Williams, the passenger, was taken to OSU Medical Center, his condition is stable.

I didn't know him as a friend per say. But I knew him since my freshman year. It just shows you how short life really is.

This is going to sound heartless, but they wrecked a stolen car. Poetic justice at its finest.

Agreed. It's a shame that the kid had to die, but stealing a car and then speeding in it is just asking for trouble.

On another note, though, I know what it's like to lose a friend at a young age. One of my good friends from middle school was killed in a car accident a few years ago, and then another guy I wrestled with was killed in a jet ski accident a couple summers ago.

Over this summer, also, one of my best friends was killed in a firework accident. He had been a nextdoor neighbor for a few years and had just moved away to a nearby county, and I had to find out unexpectedly that a firework had exploded in his face, leading him to die in a hospital later that night. He was barely 16 years old.
