Sam "L" McGuffie (Olympic Bobsled Team)

Actually, Sam's hs vids are VERY comparable to Reggie's hs vids.

That's saying something.
I'd agree that his HS tape is astonishing viewing - whether it is on the level of Bush I cannot tell. different States, different opponents, different players.
If McGuffie wants to come to Ohio State and work his way into the line-up then hopefully the staff can find a way.

Once the 2 guys get here we will be in great shape at RB.
I remember not that long ago, when we played Marshall, my wife made the comment; "Holly smokes! Marshall has more, better running backs than us!"
And she was right I had to admit. That was pretty disgusting.
I would hope those days are gone forever, now.

It doesn't matter...

I agree, we have a lot of depth at running back but Ohio State is supposed to be loaded at that position... USC had seven tailbacks on their roster this year with 3 more coming in: Two 5 stars and a 4 star. You can't have enough quality guys to carry the ball.

After watching this kid's highlight reel I'm gunna need a better reason than "we already have too many runningbacks" to say we shouldn't add him for 2008. The possibility of a LenDale White/ Reggie Bush type backfield is enough to justify making him an offer.

Great to see he will be camping at OSU...I think he walks out of camp with an offer. We will have some pretty big names at camp and some good competition if Shaw, Woods, McGuffie, etc. show up.

I am beginning to believe that the Buckeyes will be major players in this one before it is all said and done. The updates on McGuffie keep getting better and better...especially the scout one with GP

Admittedly, I don't get to watch all of the videos I'd like to watch but I'm glad I watched the scout videos on this kid.

You've got to be kidding me?!?!?! Are those high school kids he's playing against? His balance is off the charts. His strength is much better than a 185 pound RB normally has also. If we don't offer him we may very well regret it later. As someone has already stated, offer him and figure out where to play him later. You can never have too many "athletes" on the football field.

Some of his open field running was eerily similar to Tony Gonzalez. I'd take that any day of the week.

Rivals $

5/11

Sam says he has narrowed his list to California, Alabama, USC, Michigan, Notre Dame, Florida, Miami, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Florida State, Iowa State, Arizona and North Carolina.

I think an offer puts us on at that list...whether one is forthcoming or not remains to be seen...
