Nothing against this kid cause he looks like a heckuva punter, but with the recent offer going out to Drew Basil(kicker) whom also punts is that "wise" with what limited schollies we have this year?

Obviously we all "trust the coaches" but just kinda curious what everyone thinks. I know that we lose 2 specialists after this season and Buchanon is the only current schollie player that'll be left after this year but should we bring in 2 more?

I'm guessing, if there is an offer, whoever commits first gets the spot.

I don't think that is the case. If you read Basil's thread, he was told that there was no deadline on his offer. I will be shocked if he ends up elsewhere anyway. I am sure staff is also counting him in. If this offer is legit, it means we would like to get two kicker/punter if it is the right two. Basil would probably handle kicking only and Hagerup would be the punter in that scenario.

Has there ever been less than three K/P on scholarship under Tressel?

I don't know jack about recruiting or how many scholarships are on the team per position, but based upon their track record with kicking/punting, this is the one area I have zero questions about if the staff offers. Year in/out, we are very solid in the kicking game so if the staff wants Hagerup and Basil, them ring 'em up.

Ohio State Buckeyes College Football Recruiting, OSU Big Ten Football, OSU Basketball - Bucknuts.com

Will Hagerup from Whitefish Bay, Wis., is the top punter in the Midwest. The 6-foot-4 and 215-pound Hagerup does his teams punting and kicking, but is considered a punter first and foremost.

Hagerup averaged 40.1 yards per punt during his junior season. He also made all four of his field goal attempts with his long coming from 44 yards.

Hagerup had 12 scholarship offers before recently making a Midwest. The trip netted him offer No. 13.

"Ohio State was the lucky No. 13," Hagerup said. "My dad and I planned out a Midwest trip. We visited Michigan last Wednesday and Ohio State on Thurday. Michigan had already offered.

"At Ohio State I worked out. After I punted one of the coaches gave me a full tour. Afterwards I met with Coach (Jim) Tressel for about an hour. He said they were offering a full scholarship."

Hagerup has offers from Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Purdue, Indiana, Northwestern, Illinois, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas and Iowa State.

Hagerup says he does not have a leader, but hopes to come up with one and select a college before the end of the summer.

The Buckeyes have also offered Chillicothe, Ohio, punter and kicker Drew Basil.
