gaffney has been sick a lot this year. not just referring to tweaked ankles or whatnot. this is at least the third time that the ambiguous "illness" has kept him from being able to play.

also seems... odd... that gaffney is reported as sick despite ho1tmann just yesterday talking about gaffney getting minutes tonight.

Yeah, I'd think most guys would have to be near death to not be on the bench for a game you have a good chance to play in. Now, it is a road game and maybe he just isn't good enough to travel, so I'll try to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Team sure has had a variety of off-court issues, not even to mention the on-court issues

fortunately, i can't recall any reports or rumors this season (or the last two) that cited chemistry, attitude, or even morale issues. knock on wood, this is a major benefit of ho1tmann recruiting and signing quality young men, not just talented players. any internal issues probably would have reared their ugly heads and perhaps fractured the team during the january slump. under ho1tmann, resiliency has been a hallmark.

I am going to choose to believe that it probably is HIPAA as far as why there aren't more details. Every college athlete has a right to decide whether to allow their coach to talk in depth about their medical condition publicly.
