SF LaQuinton Ross (Memphis Hustle - NBA G-League)

Big time news. One more scorer in case Thomas and/or Buford go flat in any game.
I think his playing time will more depend upon how fast he catches on to playing Matta's defense then his scoring ability. Plus I believe Sam Thompson brings as much to the table as Ross offensively.

Ross has an outstanding offensive game. Sam Thompson is one of my favorite players on the team, but hr doesn't have the offense of Ross.

Ross' jump-shot is Diebler-esque. And at 6'8" he can shoot over top of amost any defender.

Ross is a really good player.

I don't think he'll see the court against Kansas, but the following game against SC-Upstate we should see his debut.

Did you just compare the jump shot of someone that's never seen the court in college to the all-time leader in 3 pointers in the Big Ten?

Uh, ok? I need to see it first. I'm looking forward to seeing Mr. Ross in uniform. Anything he does after that this year is icing on the cake to me.

Yea. You got it right.

His jump shot is comparable to Diebler's.

I'm not saying he's going to shoot 50% from 3, or anywhere near that, but yes, if you've done any research on Ross, watched any of his games live, or watched his highlights, you would understand.

I hear ya though, keys get this kid in a uni first, or it doesn't make any difference if he's a better shooter than Larry Bird.

So you're saying he's not going to shoot 50% from 3, but his jump shot is comparable to Diebler's...

Explain. How is Diebler's jump shot comparable to Diebler's?

Ross is a much better offensive player than Thompson right now. Thompson is a better athlete and defender. Ross can score with his back to the basket, in the midrange and from deep. He will probably be our second best 3-pt shooter to Buford. He handles the ball and passes well for his size.

For the sake of the team, I hope he's everything you want him to be, Ninja.

BTW, have you seen him play multiple live games? Or have you watched highlights?

Ross has a ton of potential - but for the moment that is all he has.

Thomas was going to walk in here and become our leading scorer. Didn't happen year one. Buford was going to do the same. Took him a while. Diebler shot below 30% as a Frosh. Scott was going to take Craft's job. Still working on that.

Little doubt Ross will be a good one. Whether he will play a significant role with this team this season is yet to be seen.

The best way to evaluate a shooter is by watching highlights. They almost never miss.
