There was a lot of commotion in the very back corner of the spacious Campus Recreation Center building on Sunday afternoon. The reason? It was Weatherspoon bending the rims in the 15 and under championship game.
The 6-foot-6 forward dominated on the big stage and there was not a player on the floor that could stop his athleticism and strength in the paint.

Right now he is a tweener for the high major level...He has more of the game for PF level, but is only about 6'6''...

He will get the looks due to who he plays with, but right now I put Sullinger and Payne ahead of him in terms of players on the AAU team in the post...

Ha. Thats perfect for Ohio State then.

Not really in the Ohio state system he is going to need to step out and hit the jumper...Right now he doesn't really do that...I would take Payne over him right now...

Now a disclaimer would be if he could develop a SF game with his frame and athleticism he could be a big time prospect...

Muskies get second 2010 recruit

By Dustin Dow ? [email protected] ? November 4, 2008

Xavier received its second oral commitment from a high school junior in three days today.

Shortly after Xavier?s afternoon practice, Columbus Northland High School junior J.D. Weatherspoon called Xavier coach Sean Miller to offer an oral commitment, joining Baltimore?s Jordan Latham, who orally committed to the Musketeers on Sunday.
The two commitments from the class of 2010 are double what Xavier has secured so far for the 2009 class with Kevin Parrom being the lone high school senior committed so far to play for XU.
?Kids all over the country are committing early,? Weatherspoon said. ?I?m a top prospect; Xavier was my No. 1 school, and I just wanted to get it over early.?
