Sharks-Red Wings 2nd Round

come on man. they were good enough to grab the 3rd seed in the West and have clearly outplayed SJ this series in all but 1 category (and it's not even over yet).

No they haven't.

They've been clearly out played tonight, and most of games 1, 2 and 3 as well as Game 5.

The Wings are old. And tired.

They have virtually no one other than Datsyuk that can get to the net. Teams know how to stop the Wings now. They need to switch it up.

Isn't it great to be right?

Thrilled actually. :wink2:

Actually, I'm not that disappointed. They looked like they were going to lay down in the 1st and really most of the 3rd, but almost found a way.

I hope this shakes up the GM to the point where he'll change some stuff up, but Wings fans are myopic about this - they think if you have enough skill it can overcome anything else and that's just not the case right now.

Other teams have figured out the Wings. San Jose had just enough talent to finish it off, Vancouver would have taken their lunch and punched them in the face.

i mentioned at the beginning of the season that Detroit needs some young blood to mesh with the veterans. There is no doubt Detroit needs some fresh players. They don't need a large overhaul but changes must be made.

Yeah that's what I was thinking there at the end. You are going to take your best players off the ice? I don't care if they are gassed you leave them out there for that. Oh and I missed the beginning of the game due to work. Was Franzen scratched? I never noticed him.

Franzen was scratched for Draper. We will likely hear about Franzen having surgery on that ankle in the off-season. He was likely done for the remainder of the playoffs.

He's been hurt all series.

No shame in losing to the Sharks, talented team. Too bad every fan they have is a douche.

sucks your forced negativity prevents you from seeing how good your favorite team really is.

I know they're good. Hell, if they weren't as skilled as they are they would have been swept outright and games 1, 2 and 3 wouldn't have been 1 goal games.

They played very badly and honestly were dominated everywhere but the scoreboard in those games.

I just hope this wasn't Lidstrom's last game, but even he looked mortal the last month of the season and in this series especially.

So Mike what do you think is next for the Wings, a total rebuild around Datsuyk and Zetterberg? I agree with you that they have gotten old.

Is Howard really the guy for them in net? Holmstrom looks more done to me than Lidstrom...

Would you have pulled Howard when they had the power play in the last 3 minutes to really force the pressure to tie it. Definitely risky but hell it was game 7 after all....
