SimPLLLLLLLe Jim "6-13" Harbaugh (B1G Suspenders McKhakiPants, Cheater Cheater Booger Eater)

I think they'll extend his contract - I don't think ttun can realistically find anyone better - and after getting burnt on RichRod & Hoke experiments, they're going to be pretty gun shy about hiring an unproven guy again. There just aren't that many obvious, can't-miss type coaches out there. And the ones that are either aren't available or they absolutely will not consider coaching at ttun.

He isn't going to get any offers paying him anywhere near what he's getting now, so I don't see him leaving on his own.

My hunch was that he'd leave this year if we thumped his skull again, so I don't know what to make of the situation. The admins are clearly OK with 3rd place division finishes and humiliating losses in The Game and the bowl, and the fanbase has become cult-like in their ability to make excuses for him by screaming about academics and mythical bagmen. Whatever meds he's on have lobotomized his ego to the point that he's just accepting the Thanksgiving beatdown and moving on. I think he's there for awhile unless manic, psycho Jim comes back out to play and he can't deal with the losing anymore.

All that being said, if he does decide to leave, there will always be a couple of NFL owners/GMs stupid and desperate enough to roll the dice with SimpLLLLLe Jim.

I would hire JH as head coach of the Falcons, replacing Dan Quinn almost immediately.

There are alot of very mediocre NFL Coaches out there.
The problem with Harbrau, and they're well-stated, is that he has a very limited window to succeed at any given stop. It's a little different in college because of the yearly roster churn, but he's probably good for 4 years, tops, with any NFL team.

It's also worth noting, that this Jim Harbaugh is clearly not the same guy that was in SF from 2011-14, or even his first two years at tsun. He's not the manic, frothing-at-the-mouth maniac he was then. Something happened to him during The Game in 2016. He's much more under control and reserved now. He used to have at least one sideline meltdown a game. They're a rare occurrence now. He ain't the same guy.

One thing that I will add is that I think tsun absolutely could do better than him. I'm having a hard time believing they could do worse given the resources he has up there and the five years of results that we've seen. It's just that the tsun are scared to pull the trigger and make a move. Plus, they can fuel their smugness by telling the world they won't fire SimpLLLLLe Jim because he's "doing things the right way" with his "Ivy League SAT players."
