I hurt my liver so I had to slow it waaaay down.

Elevated liver enzymes?

Just a word of advice to you guys who drink more than 2 drinks in one sitting (this includes me on weekends).

Milk Thistle has been shown to protect the liver against toxins and promote regeneration of the liver. You can Google Milk Thistle and read more about it......it's an herb you buy at the health store. I know a guy that had elevated liver enzymes (I'm talking off the chart) and he started taking Milk Thistle (and did not quit drinking ) and his doctor was amazed to see his liver enzymes come back to normal after some bloodwork.

Of course the best way to protect the liver is to not drink at all but that's no fun.

I am already on it. Unfortunately my liver enzymes are not elevated simply because of drinking. I haven't had any new bloodwork done (Jan 22 I'm due) I and I am hoping to see a drop.

I really shouldn't drink at all, but for me it is a quality of life choice. I brew beer. I just don't see how I could go on and not enjoy one, at least occasionally.

I might drink 2-3 beers one night a week Sunday-Thursday, if I am out w/ my friends watching a game or something. Friday/Saturday-I don't really count, I see where the night leads me. I almost never drink at home unless I have company over, only at bars/restaurants or my friends places.
