whew....I thought I was the only one who did that. I guess now I know that I am not a freak.

I do it as well.. I don't scribble stuff down, necessarily, but I type in bits and pieces of songs... If you recall two seperate parts of a tune, put quotes around each part and it'll return adequate results.
