OK so what do you like about the first half!? here's mine


1)The defenses were really tough against the run, and even tougher against the pass.

2) Skeete was very solid.

3) Pittman looked very quick with good vision!

Here's what I didn't like.

1) The QB play

2) The O-line play

3) Turnovers.

4) Crowd Turnout (even though I know the weather sucks, I'd be there if I could).

None of the QBs looked really good in the first half. Smith threw one pick and had another that should have been. Zwick has been inaccurate and Todd hasn't really done anything either.

It could be due to the weather, but I still would like to see ONE of the three QBs step up.

newbie here. Been watching board a lot but not posting. Hoobler looks real good on D. Skeete looks good on the kicking game. Smith is a little shaky now but of the three I think he is winning the QB battle. Pittman and Haw both have great speed. Where is the TE play in this game? Ginn has been getting open with no one to get thim the ball. Will be anxious to see what Boeckman does with the Scarlet Jersey on in 2nd half. Also want ot see if TS settles down a little. Hopefully the weather will get better for y'all up there. I am originally from the OH Coshocton Ohio until 3 years ago then moved here to Savannah. Weather here is nice but really windy. Turn on ABC and look at PGA Sr. tour being played here this week. Windy as hell on theat island!! GO BUCKS.

I have just about the exact same list as you BukI.

Likes:

1. Pittman

2. I agree with you about Skeete, he looked really good and nailed a 43 yarder.

3. I actually liked the O-Line play of the Gray, especially on the run. Against the pass for Boeckman I though they played pretty well too.

4. The pressure put on by Vernon to force the turnover. There just wasn't enough of that last year. Lane also almost had a second pick.

Dislikes:

1. Turnovers!!! Smith didn't need to throw that pass, and Dukes should never have fumbled that football. The bad snap was also not very pretty.

2. The QB play was pretty bad. Smith had that turnover, and Zwick was 7-18.

Great to be watching some Buckeye football!

Among the probable non-starters, Hoobler, Freeman, Lukens, Terry, Gholston, and Welch have all made some nice plays.

Whitner stripped Dukes on the fumble.

I didn't spot Ginn on red zone defense, but I've thought that makes a lot of sense. Would you have the guts to call an out or a fade on his side of the field, knowing that a slight underthrow can go 100 yards in a major hurry?

Conroy tweaked his knee, but it doesn't look like a serious injury.

Pittman has shown good quickness and vision.

Boeckman did look sharp buying a little time and then hitting Gonzo in the back of the end zone.

The fans that showed up in the cold are rather ornery. Given the weather situation, I don't think the boos are called for. But the fans that are sitting through the messy conditions want a show.

It took me a while to get on but I agree with the assessments. I am a bit surprised with the QB and OL play (but the weather does suck and the offense is pulled apart across the sides).

Also, a bit surprised to see Pittman's speed and vision. That is good news on a cold, wet field.

Hoobler the other surprise. Didn't really think AJ Hawk was talking sense when he made comments earlier this week. Didn't like the late hit, but I didn't see it.

Geez, that band really does sound nice. Goosebumps stuff!

I think if Skeets's got his balls up, it's his business.

TS TOUCHDOWN!!! Then Skeete misses. Special teams nisn't looking real good today. I know the weather has a lot to do with it. Skeete looked good early. But missing a PAT doesn't set real well with coaches. Hopefully Boeckman and Teddy G can hook up to make it a little bit of a ball game.
