Switch connection issues

I realize this is a long shot, and the descriptions will be vague, but I'll try anyway. This morning at work I couldn't connect to the Internet or any network drives. A colleague had the same issue. Everybody else is fine. If I take a laptop to the switch and plug it directly in, same problem.

I'm not positive it's a switch issue, so I don't want to poison anyone's guesses. Does anybody have any ideas?

Edit: I just plugged right in to the router and I connected, fwiw

Not sure what type of switch you all are using...but if it's a programmable switch, it could be any of a whole slew of possibilities. I program cisco switches and routers, and can tell you that there are all kinds of things we can do with switches these days....opens up all kinds of possibilities, and can generate all kinds of problems.
