TE Jake Stoneburner (Official Thread)

No person, without privilege to do so and with purpose to prevent, obstruct, or delay the performance by a public official of any authorized act within the public official?s official capacity, shall do any act that hampers or impedes a public official in the performance of the public official?s lawful duties.

So all it could mean was him asking what's going on to an officer

Sounds to me like someone else was up to something - potentially something illegal - and Jake tried to step in or was a little too curious, enough at least to make an officer upset.

Doesn't sound like too big of a deal, but hopefully everything turns out alright.

Obstruction is a technical term for "annoying an officer." I've seen some seriously petty obstruction charges that most people would laugh at. Not saying that's necessarily the case here, but it is usually the case when OOB isn't accompanied by another more serious offense.

what a joke. Someone shines a light on Stoney and friend and either doesn't id themselves as cops or doesn't do it loud enough for them to hear. Hell if I got booked everytime I ran from cops I would have spent half my youth in a holding cell.

I once got put in the back of a police car (after I got pepper sprayed) because I didn't step back up on a curb fast enough for the officer. There was a fight in the street and a bunch of us were watching. The police come and yell at us to get back, I said "I'm trying" and, boom, next thing I know I'm in the back of the car. Never got arrested or anything. The cop told me I didn't move fast enough.

Stoneburner tells NBC4 Sports that he and a friend were in front of a Shawnee Hills restaurant early in the morning when someone turned a bright light on them.

Stoneburner said he and his friend didn't know where the light came from and they ran off. When they became aware that the light came from police officers they stopped.
Oh yea and Mewhort was with him and also got arrested
And they were urinating between buildings

This is going to come across like a homer defending one of our players, but this just sounds like overreacting officers. No one ever wants to acknowledge it but there are some guys in uniform who are just hypersensitive bullies. Not all, but definitely some
