Teddy Bridgewater (QB Denver Broncos)

Wayne Times actually backed up current University of Miami QB Jacory Harris in 2007, and yes Bridgewater displaced Times at QB last year, but Times is a gifted athlete in his own right and I mentioned him a few times earlier in this thread, but nobody even gave this young man a scholarship until FIU, which is getting a steal in getting this guy to come there. I can't wait to see Times on the field this fall at FIU where he will be playing WR, where he also played many of his games in high school at FIU's stadium.

Bridgewater a reluctant quarterback at Miami Northwestern - USATODAY.com

MIAMI ? Teddy Bridgewater thought he was heir apparent to former Miami Northwestern wide receivers Tommy Streeter and Aldarius Johnson, now both at the University of Miami (Fla.). It turns out the junior may be the next coming of another Northwestern player now with the Hurricanes? quarterback Jacory Harris.
"Last year, I really wanted to play wide receiver," Bridgewater says. "Me and Wayne (Times) were splitting time at quarterback, but as the season went on, he was making bigger plays at receiver."
...

Definitely worth a read, given the on-going conversation here.

For those who keep saying that Teddy Bridgewater is not a quarterback at the next level, you may want to actually get out and see Florida's top-rated junior prospect -- live!

On Thursday night, the 6-3, 180-pound Northwestern standout, who is also an NCAA-DI receiving prospect, not only threw for 153 yards and 4 touchdowns, but managed to direct an offense that piled up 353 yards against district rival Hialeah.

Northwestern knows that its success this season will be largely defined by its performance in the next three weeks. Preparing to face Booker T. Washington, Central and Columbus, all playoff teams in 2008, the Bulls know that they have to be sharp.

But if they get performances like Friday's out of junior quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, they will be just fine.

Bridgewater looked sharp as he set a Miami-Dade record by throwing seven touchdown passes in a game to lead the Bulls past district foe Hialeah-Miami Lakes 54-23 at Traz Powell Stadium.

The previous Dade record was six touchdown passes, held by Central's Jeff Godfrey, who threw six touchdowns Thursday against Miami Springs -- and former Northwestern star Jacory Harris, who set the record in 2007 against Hialeah-Miami Lakes.

The third Dade quarterback to have thrown for six touchdowns is Norland's Jackie Holmes in 1966.

Bridgewater's performance was impressive all around as he finished with 327 passing yards, while completing 19-of-24 passes.

Bridgewater completed touchdown passes to five different receivers.

The leading receiver was Eli Rogers, who caught three passes for 114 yards and a score.

``I was telling those guys that they have to get their [yards-after-catch] stats up,'' Bridgewater said. ``We did a lot of special work in practice this week . . . just so we could be prepared to execute tonight.''

From Duane Long's blog today.
Buckeye fans are going to hear about Florida 2011 quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. Is he better than Braxton Miller? Yes. He is better. He is bigger. He is even more athletic. His arm is just as strong. I give Miller the edge in mechanics. Both are five-star kids, national top five kids next year. The big question is who would I offer if I could only take one, but that one would commit as soon as I offered him, it would still be Miller. Bridgewater is so focused on going to the Show that he is thinking he wants to play another position, likely wide receiver, to increase his odds of making that happen.
