Volunteers avoid bowl ban as NCAA finds over 200 violations

Among the penalties handed down, Tennessee has been placed on five years' probation, was given an $8 million fine among other financial penalties that will push the total closer to $9 million, and will see a total reduction of 28 scholarships.

The $8 million fine, which the NCAA said was "equivalent to the financial impact the school would have faced if it missed the postseason during the 2023 and 2024 seasons," is believed to be the largest ever levied in an infractions case.

I used to watch that show fairly often before it got taken off the air ( actually still on under the name On Patrol Live on Reelz). Slidell seemed to be on quite often.

Arian Foster says UT boosters gave him '40, 50 grand,' then backtracks

Former Tennessee Volunteers running back Arian Foster created a stir on Friday when he first said he was given $40,000-$50,000 in cash by boosters while playing football at the university before backtracking via a series of tweets.

Foster has been open in the past about taking money during his time in college, but during a radio interview with ESPN's Dan LeBatard, Foster explained how things went down for him between 2005-08 while Philip Fulmer was head coach.

"You have people help you out here and there," Foster said. "Boosters and alumni and ex-players, they all know how it is, man. It's hard living check to check when you don't have enough money to go out to the movies or any kind of leisure activity. And you're not allowed to get a job. Especially when I was in college, they were a lot more stringent on those rules, so at any given chance I got the opportunity, I took a free handout. Absolutely."
