Texas Longhorns (big hat, no cattle; please don’t Horns Down us)

Fallout from the Saban retiring and Alabama inquiring about Sarkisian, Sark just got a new contract:

Steve Sarkisian, Texas agree to 4-year extension through 2030

Steve Sarkisian has agreed to a four-year contract extension with Texas through 2030, the school announced Saturday.

Financial terms of the deal, which must be approved by the school's board of regents, were not released. Sarkisian's initial contract paid him nearly $6 million in 2023, and it's expected his new deal will push him closer to $10 million annually and among the top-paid coaches in the country.

The extension comes a day after Sarkisian reaffirmed his commitment to the Longhorns on social media after being linked to Alabama's high-profile vacancy.

'Business decision': Alabama WR Isaiah Bond commits to Texas

Alabama transfer wide receiver Isaiah Bond has committed to Texas, which he called a "business decision" in the wake of coach Nick Saban's retirement.

"Just like the business world, you make the best decision for your company," Bond told ESPN in a phone interview Sunday. "My company right now is my draft stock. I feel like I'm putting myself in position to increase that and have better draft stock."

Bond, who just completed his sophomore year, visited Texas this weekend and committed to the staff during the visit.

Apparently Texas barstool made a mean joke about the UGA mascot dying and then deleted it and Georgia fans are complaining that the Texas account didn’t apologize.

Seriously we already have the Gumps and Georgia in this conference do we really need these twat waffles from Texas whining shit up in the conference more than it is already?

Aggies are right about one thing. Tejas is the softest school and fanbase on the planet. Coach throwing a profanity laced tantrum over the horns down sign. Jesus, good luck in the SEC!
Didn't the Big-12 pass some rule that said opposing players couldn't do horns-down, or it's an unsportsmanlike penalty in football? If I'm wrong, then never mind. If I'm right, though, imagine the fun that will be had in the SEC.

Big 12 officials coordinator Greg Burks announced the decision in 2019 that the gesture would result in a penalty if directed toward a Texas player, coach or fan. And it seems that still stands as Burks doubled down on the decision on Thursday.

“Please, the state of Oklahoma: I make no offense. You don’t have to send me e-mails … It’s not about Horns Up or Horns Down. It’s about the manner that you do anything on the field toward an opponents”

Haha. Translation: It IS about horns up or horns down. Don't make our cash cow angry.

Just sayin': Apparently LSU thought so, they voted to offer both Texas and Oklahoma an invitation to join the SEC......
