I've added the name, so you now have 16. I had just placed all of these names in the NW'ern game preview earlier today, so I had my own list.

You know, something i never took into consideration...Redshirts. But even with redshirts you would assume about 1 out of every 5 players on the team are seniors. And i hear with scout squads and all of that stuff they have 100+ players.

How many players did you have flunk out, transfer, declare for the draft early, redshirt, grayshirt or suffer career ending injuries all under a system with limited scholarships?

Are you asking about the size of my hs team?

Well if you are...

That 43 player total is the varstiy total and only includes sophs and up. No freshmen. Last year we had 65 on varsity and 95 on the team(freshman and all). With 2 freshman on varsity. So out of 30 freshmen only 6 were eligible because of grades this year(5 if you take me off that list). So that is why we were so small. I know there was a few upperclassmen that were also ineligible, but not nearly as much as our frosh class. So basically 24 freshman from last year didn't play and if they did our total could've been around 65-70. Every player from the sophmores to the seniors are on the varsity and get to dress every game, no matter how good or bad they are.

I hate to be logical, but when he said "declare for the draft early" he might have been suggesting that your HS team doesn't have much to do with OSU's senior class.

Thanks for the explanation. That's exactly what I was looking for.

Anyway...This senior class is a great one. It's hard to look at all the names we're losing. I realize talent is behind them, but a lot of these guys hold a special place with me, as it was one of the first recruiting classes I REALLY followed online.

The nice tribute to these 16 is the fact that they all contributed to the 2002 National Championship in some way or another. I'm sure that 2005 was on all of thier minds to get ONE MORE N/C, which would have been an enormous achievement. The linebacking corp will go down as one the best in Buckeye history I;m sure.
