Game Thread THE GAME, 11/26/16, 12pm ET, ABC

Am I the only one nervous? Like REALLY nervous?

No, cautiously optimistic is my outlook. Buckeyes having won (2) NC's "recently" 2002/2014 gives one a different perspective. Plus the Cavs winning the NBA championship!

Let me repeat that ~ Cavs winning the NBA championship! ~ so nice to say it twice, I digress.

My only qualm is knowing the pedsters will be routing for an Ohio State win. So there's the divine intervention backlash to consider. But then again, knowing the almighty was and always will be a Buckeye fan 'til eternity and beyond is comforting to the soul.

So it shall be written, so it shall be done! ~ Buckeyes Infinity / TTUN 7.

I watched the BTN feature this morning on the 2006 game. Warm fuzzy memories - until they went into what happened to Ohio State the next game against Florida with that head coach I couldn't stand then - and love now - which confuses me a little, but that's usual.

Anyway, I realized something else that is on the line Saturday. TTUN fans believe, or are hoping, that Harbaugh is their Tressel - the coach who can turn the momentum of this rivalry. He isn't off to a great start. He got thrashed 42-13 last year. What will another defeat mean to those hopes? TTUN fans will say that they need to take one step at a time, that they beat Sparty this year and got over that hurdle, and that they will get Ohio State in AA next year. But 0-2 puts more doubt in the fan base and the program, and adds to the pressure that brings 0-3 into play. Who is the big dog in the B1G East? Penn State fans will say it is them, but everyone knows they are delusional. Ohio State has a chance to keep TTUN in its rightful place. I say they do that.

Given it's Thanksgiving, here's a start to a few things I'm thankful for:

- Llllllloyd Carr
- RichRod
- Brady Hoke

I'm grateful for Tress/Urban who made Carr/RichRod/Hoke disappear.

>

Also grateful that the tables have turned and the B1G has turned into the SEC ie playoff tough. Whereas the Buckeyes have had many sledgehammer games this year, 'Bama has had mostly cupcakes!

Too funny if Urban's former team knocks 'Bama out of the playoffs in the SEC Title game. Alabama currently "may" be the best team, but they are in no way unbeatable.

>

We now return you to the Buckeyes continuing their dominance over TTUN ...

The thing about this is...if they don't beat Ohio State this year, yeah, they get them next year in AA, BUT the team they will get is the team that is currently #2 and the youngest team in CFB. This team returns almost everybody and is only going to get better. Meanwhile, the team that Autistic Whore and scUM are going to field next year is going to lose a lot of upperclassmen and I highly doubt they have the same horses to replace them that Ohio State had this year. Even if they do have some real talent waiting in the wings, Ohio State is clearly going to still hold the edge there with talent AND experience. 0-3 is a real possibility if they don't get over the hump this year.

DEPTH CHART: OHIO STATE'S TWO-DEEP REMAINS THE SAME BEFORE THE BUCKEYES HOST ARCHRIVAL MICHIGAN

See entire 2 deep: http://www.elevenwarriors.com/ohio-...e-before-the-buckeyes-host-archrival-michigan

Just sayin': I'm thinking Demario McCall should be the #3 RB (behind Mike Weber and Curtis Samuel) in lieu of Dontre Wilson.

URBAN MEYER, JIM HARBAUGH AND THEIR FIRST ON-FIELD TASTE OF THE OHIO STATE-MICHIGAN RIVALRY

77017_h.jpg,qitok=LY1ZW9YP.pagespeed.ce.gVSw9VNctt.jpg

Both Urban Meyer and Jim Harbaugh were bred into the Ohio State-Michigan rivalry, born in the same Toledo hospital a mere seven months apart.

But it took each man a little longer than that to get their first taste of The Game on the sidelines of their respective and beloved universities, doing so in the 1980s. Meyer, like Harbaugh, wanted to play college football but wasn't good enough to do so at Ohio State. So he settled for the University of Cincinnati.

Meyer's brief career as a defensive back lasted only during the 1984 season while he also dabbled in minor league baseball, drafted by the Atlanta Braves organization in the 13th round of the 1982 MLB Draft. He spent two seasons at shortstop for the Braves before graduating from Cincinnati in 1986. Meyer then bolted north to Columbus and Ohio State after one season as an assistant high school coach in the Queen City.

Harbaugh, on the other hand, received a scholarship offer to play for the Wolverines in 1982 from his idol, Bo Schembechler. Having spent the majority of his childhood at the feet of Michigan football either as a ball boy or helping Schembechler's staff (and his own father, Jack) in any way possible, Harbaugh felt immersed in the rivalry even when a job switch moved him to California. Jack Harbaugh took over as Stanford's defensive coordinator before Jim's junior year of high school but it wasn't long before he returned to Ann Arbor.

Here is what each man did in college during the 1980s before their first-ever on-field meeting as part of the Ohio State-Michigan game in 1986—when Harbaugh delivered on a guarantee that the Wolverines would beat the Buckeyes in Ohio Stadium.

Not 100% sure, but I'm thinking 11W rehashed a lot of this article from one they ran last year.

URBAN MEYER SAYS MICHIGAN IS 'YEAR-ROUND PREPARATION' GAME; JIM HARBAUGH 'DOESN'T RECOMMEND' GUARANTEEING VICTORIES

77021_h.jpg,qitok=2k2bWMat.pagespeed.ce.8fUWnKfokM.jpg

Ohio State hosts Michigan on Saturday at noon.

You already knew that, of course.

Urban Meyer and Jim Harbaugh both know it, too.

It's college football's greatest rivalry, and Meyer reiterated Tuesday on the Big Ten coaches weekly teleconference why it means so much to him.

"I'm very biased and I'm very respectful of all rivalries, but I grew up in the 70s and this was a time when Bo Schembechler and Woody Hayes had two programs that were at the top of the food chain," Meyer said. "What I remember and what I make perfectly clear to our players is the amount of respect that I learned in this rivalry from those two great coaches was real."

"The fight is there at the highest level, but there's also respect."

Meyer makes it known this week is not just a normal week for the Buckeyes. The scout team dresses differently. The same song plays over and over all week throughout Ohio State's practice facility. The word 'Michigan' is never mentioned.

"There's much more to it," Meyer said. "This is a year-round preparation game and it's something that we take very seriously."
