Game Thread THE GAME: Ohio State 42, Michigan 7 (Nov. 22)

In other words, each game is equally important? You can't achieve all those goals you talked about without winning them all. So that's what it sounds like to me. And it also sounds pretty similar to what RR is saying.

In other words, our seniors didn't come back to get beat by App. St. onopening day on our home field. If that happens to us then you can draw comparisons between OSU and scUM.

Hail To The Victors..........Who just happen to be the Buckeyes again!

Good thing he's just a poster and not a player or coach.

Do you people still harbor doubt that Jim Tressel puts a huge emphasis on The Game and has his teams prepared? The Game is not equally important, it is a season unto itself. Tressel gets it, Cooper and Dickrod, do not.

Oh yeah. Tressel GETS IT.

In case you forgot, Hail, the Senator called the win and backed it the f**k up.

This doesn't even warrant a response, but I'd hate for anyone browsing the board to get the impression that you actually made a valid point. The goal for this year's Buckeyes is to win every game, win the Big Ten Conference Championship, and play for the BCS Championship. Before the season, The Game is the most important of the season, because 2 of those 3 goals are impossible to achieve without a win in the last game of the regualr season. During the season, from the Sunday before, until game time, each game will be the only game that matters. If OSU makes it to Nov 22nd undefeated, UM will be the most important game of the regular season. If OSU does not have a shot at making the BCS NC game on Nov. 22nd, the game becomes even more important, because Ohio State coaches, players, and fans respect the rivalry, and know what kind of impact it has on the attitude toward that season, and the next season. For fans, The Game is always special, because no victory, short of a NC game, is nearly as sweet as beating the crap out of those maize and blue bastards. Coach Tressel has emphasised the importance of the rivalry since day one. If the rivalry has lost importance, it is due to your guys not holding up their end of the bargain. If UM doesn't field a competent team in the next few years, this rivalry will become less competitive than ND/Navy.

Anybody assuming a win needs to refresh their memory about the 1969 game. The year before, tOSU scored 50 in the "couldn't go for three" game. The Buckeyes were ranked #1 and one win away from back-to-back National Championships in The Game, since the 'no repeat' rule for the Rose Bowl would keep them home for the holiday as only one Big Ten team went bowling back then.

A rookie head coach for TSUN won The Game 24-12, preventing Woody from winning consecutive NCs. RR may not know all of the history behind the rivalry, but he has already had players from Bo's 1969 talk to the team.

"Those who don't know history are destined to repeat it." - Edmund Burke
life is full of cycles, i just wonder how much flow theyll be till the next ebb...

Does TSUN mean The **** Up North?

And I'm am really worried, I say this game will be very close because tOSU will probably just assume they've got it won at the kickoff. Also, I'm sure Michigan's new coach won't come into The Game without any surprises, and wasn't he the one who started the spread offense? We seem to have a lot of trouble with the spread.
