The Howard Stern Show (official thread)

All Stern's show is, is a bunch of his stupid studio buddies gushing over great and how funny he is, and Howard trying to see how inflated his ego can get w/out his head exploding. I can't stand him.

I can't stand Howard Stern. I listened to him for about 6-8 months straight, probably around six years ago before I couldn't take it anymore. Ever since then I must turn the station when he's come on...can't stand him. He isn't funny. All he really does anymore is whine, and when he isn't whining, he's arguing with someone, and he's usually wrong. Of course, he changes facts, doesn't let people speak, and resorts to childish insults at the first sign the argument is going against him. He sucks.

When my choices are the Morning Zoo or the Greg O show, I only wish I had Sirius to listen to Howard Stern. The morning shows in Columbus are simply unbearable and not entertaining at all.

Which is exactly why I have Sirius.

The funny thing is that yesterday they told the ratings of some of the jocks that took over for Stern.

This Rover dude came into I believe the Chicago market replacing Howard when he left for Sirius and Rover took Stern's 12 share down to a 0.3.

:slappy:

Love him or hate him, Stern will go down as one of the most famous radio broadcasters in history.

Hey now!!!! I completely agree. I think everyone knew he had a big impact on his markets, but I don't know if anyone understood how big. There's never been anything like him and it's doubtful there ever will be.

The CBS lawsuit against him is hilarious. It reminds me of "Fatal Attraction" but the suit is much sadder. Les Moonves has completely lost his mind. Then again, if I had to listen to David Lee Roth and Rover's Morning Glory, I'd go insane as well.

See if you would have asked me 6 months ago I would have agreed that Howards show had gotten old. On regular radio it have become stale and there wasn't much he could do. Since moving to Sirius you can see a big difference It is as if he is completly rejuvinated, as he has two channels to program and can really do what ever he wants. They have done a couple of roasts or different people on the show and those have been hilarious.

Bubba the love sponge takes the line that Howard still wont cross and just destroys it. His show is over the top and great to.

As far as the lawsuit, cbs is in trouble and probally figures this is the only way to try to make some money although I'm sure the case will be thrown out quickly.

Bubba would never have been on Satellite if he wasn't kicked off the air in Tampa for killing a pig on live radio. The guy is not well liked around here in the radio industry.... I've never heard his show but I know a guy who works for him... seems that Bubba is quite a unique guy.

If you want to know Howard's impact, CBS/Viacom lost $9 Billion the last quarter of 05, largely due to loss of advertising from Stern leaving their ranks.

He also wouldn't have been on Sirius if the guy who consistently kicked his ass didn't hire him.

He works for Howard now on Howard 101.

Yopu make it sound as if they killed the pig with their own hands. They actually had a butcher come in to do it. I'm just surprised he didn't get fired years ago after the princess diana phone call

True... I probably should have worded it different. I don't really have an opinion on him either way... as I've never seen his show. Personally from what I've heard about his show when it was on 98rock... he shouldn't have been kicked off just for that... it was more of an internal battle over "how far can we push the line". Thier ratings also went down when he left... it's hard to find a good morning drive team that can keep things interesting.

Really did anyone's share go up? Heck in Cleveland they already dumped David Lee Roth and the sick part is Rover was beating Stern when Stern left here in Cleveland.

The natural thing to do if you were listening to Stern was to switch to Sirius or not give the new guys a chance. So all ratings will go south.

But I do agree, Stern will be considered one of the most famous radio broadcasters in history and really no one could ever replace him. And how radio ratings works it takes months for them to get accurate numbers as 2 months is not enough time to get a real idea of their ratings.
