  • I went back 25 pages and didn't see a Kentucky thread so I'm creating one. After all, they are the winningest program in college basketball history.

They are now also the most recent 2 seed to get bounced by a 15 seed in the opening round of the NCAA tournament. Thank you, Saint Peter's.

Correct, and worth a title enhancement.

Kentucky Fans Melt Down Online After Loss to Saint Peter’s

The No. 15 Peacocks scored an incredible upset, beating the No. 2 Wildcats 85–79 to send shockwaves through the East Region.

Few members of Big Blue Nation expected to be in this position this early in the tournament. Kentucky had not lost to a seed lower than 11 in its NCAA tournament history, with those losses coming in the 1980s.

One of the reasons I went from a big college basketball fan to barely paying attention is because in the old days it was fun to watch recruiting classes mature into a strong team as juniors and senior, occasional sophomore sensation. Nowadays college basketball is a glorified AAU league with these one and dones and new transfer rules. Hey, it's better for the kids and I don't begrudge them taking advantage of the new rules to benefit themselves but it really ruined the game, at least for me.

It's so hard to believe how spoiled everyone was back in the day...in NCAA finals alone we got Bird versus Magic, Worthy versus Isiah, Ewing versus Jordan, Ewing versus Olajuwon...it was glorious. And will never, ever happen again.
