The Polls (AP, Coaches, & CFP, etc.)

As you prepare your Chicken Shit Saturday pork butt remember that LSU is good enough, according to this committee, to be ranked ahead of 3 one loss teams; Ohio State, West Virginia and Washington State.... but... LSU isn't good enough to be ranked ahead of 1 loss Georgia..... Who... they .. umm... actually beat .... you know.. when they... umm... "settled it on the field".... as they say.

That's because this isn't about who's the best right now. It's about setting up pieces on the board to give the greatest likelihood of 2 SEC teams in the playoffs regardless of what happens the last week of the season and in the CCG. If a 1-loss Big Ten champ gets left out and Delaney doesn't start fighting publicly for an 8 team playoff then we need to find a new commissioner.....one whom Slive doesn't have pictures of with a dead girl or live boy.

It's kind of cute that you think an 8 team playoff won't just mean the top 4 or 5 SEC teams make it, along with Clemson, OU (for who knows what fucking reason) the Domers and the Group of 5 flavor of the week. Where's the B1G champ you ask? Ranked 9th.

They need to replace the committee with a dozen "Vegas smarts". Get rid of the bullshit conference bias. That might replace one problem for another but ....

Exactly. 1st loss doesnt count for SEC teams.

Four? No. Three? I definitely think the committee would try and work that though. That's why an 8 team format alone isn't good enough. I think you'd have to have all 5 P5 champs, the highest rated G5 and then--so the committee wouldn't just fill in the two at-large spots with SEC/Notre Dame) getting rid of the committee and replacing it with a totally transparent BCS type formula.

That'll take all the non SEC/ACC conferences banding together, and it'll take throwing the G5s a bone in the form of one auto-bid. I'm willing to let them have that if it helps break the SECSPNACC lock on the current system.

And all of this is predicated upon a Big Ten commissioner who finally grows a set of balls and fights for what's best for the Big Ten rather than the bowls.
