The Walking Dead (Official Thread)

Agreed on the redneck getting killed...so stupid. No way to look past that. Like the guy thinks cops are still around and zombies hadn't reached him yet. However, the Merle and Daryl plotlines are getting interesting.

If Daryl is dies next epsiode...I may be done with this show. But yes. Greay episode

Did you watch the trailer for the 2nd half of the season? Pretty big hint in there.

Time for the usual fun gripes...

Andrea continues to be a dumb bitch. The writers are god awful at writing women.

Once again Maggie can't pull the trigger for some reason. It's not like once Merle gets a bullet in his head he can slit Glen's throat. He wasn't holding some sort of bomb trigger that goes off when his hand goes lifeless. Heck, he even gave up. Blow his freaking head off.

I feel bad for the black guys on this show. If they see another black guy auditioning for another part, they might as well get their resume out.

Michonne is just plain annoying at this point. There is zero reason to keep any of these secrets besides suspense for the show. It does not make her mysterious. It makes her fucking stupid. Oh, and why kill the zombie kid first. Give him the kid, chop his head off, then kill the kid. Walk away flipping the town the bird. Have I mentioned she is coming across as stupid?

How did Daryl get captured? I really want to know that one. One minute he is killing them, and it's not like the governor's men are a nice bunch of fellows that are likely to forgive someone killing their buddies. I would think they would shoot first and ask questions later. That would have been nice to show, but I guess it would not have been as suspenseful at the end. I am not saying it can't be explained, I would just like to know.

At this point I am becoming like Waldorf, or Statler, or Crow, or Tom Servo, or you name the heckler while watching this show, and I actually have learned to enjoy it. With baseball in the offseason I need something to heckle outside of the Reds.

This. I was wondering if they are fucking stupid enough to kill of by far the most interesting character in the show. Well, the answer is likely yes, though they could have held off showing Daryl in the season 3b previews to keep the suspense on what happens as well. It was a nice payoff episode, but if Daryl goes, so goes the show.

With Lori gone, it's so easy to hate Andrea now. They really ruined her character this season

Between the black characters and the females, it's almost like they're writing this show in 80's slasher movie characature...intentionally or not.

Angry black women with ninja swords are a hoot! And psycho-rednecks with bowie knives attached to there chopped of arms are a dime a baker's dozen. You got a problem with that, your watching the wrong show. :tongue2:

Andrea's got the "dumb-slut blonde character down pat! She actually makes Lori sympathetic! But with the whole world gone to hell aren't all of these women tougher than we sometimes give them credit for?

They killed off Shane and it didn't seem to slow things down. In a world gone to hell there will always be another nut-job ready to step up! :tongue2:

Daryl isn't a nutjob, he is really the only character besides Rick to have any layers to him. Plus he did most of the cool shit in the show. If he leaves, the show takes a much bigger hit than Shane.

Great season. I love the direction the show is going. Daryl obviously isn't going anywhere. He is easily the most liked character and has been for some time now. That would be suicide for the series. I think that the whole turning on Merle thing is a ploy to get Daryl to trust Merle. Somehow they will escape and Daryl will take Merle back to the prison and unbeknownst to Daryl, Merle will act as a spy/traitor.

Three things make me think this: 1) the Governor mentioned the spy angle earlier in the episode; 2) there is a sound byte in the trailer where Rick angrily asks "what is he doing here?" (I assume he is referring to Merle, though it doesn't show); and 3) it is consistent with the characters.

Just a guess, but it seems feasible.
