Thread of What You've Eaten, Cooked and/or Drunk Lately

I'm definitely an asshole but I try not to be too pretentious. I like ORD's food pics. I used to think he was eating out a lot but it's cool to know her cooks most of those dishes. I was in that biz from 1993-2004, I gained an appreciation for fine food and advanced techniques. Our bosses sent us to New Orleans a few times to eat and various Brennan establishments and encouraged us to try to copy them. It was a lot of fun.

Taking a cue from ORD's braised beef shank I'm going to do my own version with cubed chuck, braised in an onion-garlic wine reduction, will add mushrooms at the end and serve over fusili with diced tomatoes and chopped parsley, film at 11

as I'm not a wine drinker I used the cheapest cabernet they had. 10.99 a bottle, it will do the trick though

Pizza night...

First time using the pizza stone in a few years. Super thin (but chewy) crust, browned nicely, but no bubbles prolly cuz I couldn't get the stone hot enough.

First time trying out "new" (for the family) topping of sauteed eggplant and browned garlic (first picture). Probably should've left the tomato sauce off, but still got the "this is amaaaazing" response from teenage daughter, so... I got that going for me.
