Another upcoming feature is thread prefixes for the gaming forum, so you can jump to only the fantasy threads by clicking on that label, or skip past it if you aren't interested in the seventy five fantasy threads.

We need your input:

A year ago my plan for thread prefixes would have been these :

Fantasy
PS3
360
Wii
PC

Naturally that won't work very well with the upcoming changes. What would you guys recommend?

MS, Sony, Nintendo?

Have prefixes for new and old generation consoles? 360, XB1, wii, WiiU, etc?

soon 360 and ps3 threads will be rare but still need to exist in the archives.

Also for generic threads like gaming deals, would it be sufficient to list the newest console only and just know that an old 360 deal might appear there next year?

Any suggestions for something I am missing?

Are platform-specific prefixes appropriate? Most threads on here are for specific games that are for multiple platforms. We can use one prefix per thread, and there's really no need to have a separate thread for a game that's on 3-4 different platforms.

I think something that breaks things down by genre would be better... Fantasy, Sports, RPG, FPS, Action, Hardware, Deals, etc.

That might be a better idea but I don't think we need to list every genre. We also don't want to get too prefixy, which is why it will be limited to here and the recruiting forum.

Fantasy
Sports
RPG
Action
MMO
Other (deals, hardware)

Do we need more than the above? I think that would cover our bases quite well and would still help unclutter the forums for the hardcore gamers who don't want to wade through seventy five threads of fantasy & NCAA leagues.
