Tim Beck (HC Coastal Carolina)

If you think the decision on whether to hire a new OC is not a career move at ohio state, ask the two top WR we are after and the QB we are after in 16 or ask the 17 commits if they will stay if the offense stays bad in 16 and then think how long will Meyer continue to coach here if he has two or 3 years of a couple of losses each. Did you see his face after the msu loss? Do you think he can handle that a couple of times a year? I will give Beck any benefit of a doubt but when I see the drop in QB performance and general confidence, I can not put that on anyone else.

Please expound on how this offense was bad in 2015?

If Urban's 'career move' is selecting an OC.....

There is so much wrong with this post I don't know where to go.

How about 5 first downs in the one test they faced a good defense? Not a great defense How about all the 3 and outs how did we look to the previous year? How was our passing? How many intersept ions did we throw early in the season? Do you really think our coaches had confidence in our passing to risk hardly ever passing against msu without Cook? Our offense was so great we changed QB in the middle of the season. It was bad with the personnel they had. The whole country saw it except you.

And you don't remember how the 2014 offense struggled in it's early stages? Or how Alabama had the ball close to midfield with a buck thirty on the clock with a chance to tie or win the game? Or how the offense put the ball on the ground four times against Oregon? This offense had many of the same problems that the previous team had and like the previous team they went 11 - 1. The difference being when the 1 game was lost and to whom.

While you're at it, check out your use of personal pronouns and note the subtle shift from 'we' and 'our' to 'they.' Are you somehow officially connected to the team?

Do you think the QB shuffle and changing offensive philosophy a couple times might also have contributed to the struggles? Those aren't Beck choices.
Uh, there wasn't much of a shuffle. Cardale started the first seven games before JT took over the Pedster game and then finally started against Rutgers.tate in the NIU game because neither was getting the offense going, but other than that Cardale was the clear starter for the first seven games.

31 offensive points against a horrid Hawaii defense (17 points in the first three quarters, against a defense that gave up 49 points in the first half to Boise State, along with 40+ points to UNLV, Fresno State, and San Jose State), 20 points against NIU, 28 points against Minnesota and Illinois, along with the 14-point debacle against MSU.

The one test? So when we faced the mighty Michigan defense and tore that up, now we are pretending they weren't good?

All the 3 and outs....dude, it was a 12 game season....what do you expect? No 3 and outs?!

Our passing/interceptions - the QB shuffle, the suspension, the coordinator change....by all measures once the move to JT was made and we stuck with him the offense took off even more. Some of you just have such unreasonable expections, just 50 points every game every year....nothing will satisfy outside of 30 point thrashings against every team, non stop. We had the largest bullseye on our backs and went 11-1, that with all the drama, suspensions, injuries that completely removed what, 3 WR starters?

Noah Brown, Corey Smith, Dontre Wilson, Parris Campbell, Johnnie Dixon......that's a complete depletion of our WR corps.

This is crazy talk Wham to say Urban is atalking a crossroad here... the dude has won like 90 percent of his games here, won a title, won the big ten, won our division a number of times and has broken records both on the field, in the classroom, and on the recruiting trail and yet we are at a cross road? IMO Urban has got a fan for life from me. Doesn't matter if he doesn't win another title In the 10 years or so he may still be coaching I will always be a fan.

No doubt Beck probably wasn't a good idea. No doubt we struggled on offense this season but I'm putting my vote of confidence in Urban. The defense was broke his first two years so what's he do? He fixed it. I expect the same from Urban in regards to the offense now. It's not broke but it definitely needs refining.

I'd love to see Urban pick a OC though and see it through. I do think Beck probably needs to be replaced but even Beck was learning the system this year who's to say he doesn't get better?

The one change I want Urban to make is to put the same emphasis he puts on scum onto sparty. Create count down clocks (like BP), refuse green everywhere (maybe just the week of), and get these players a living hatred for that program. They are the ones who's ruined TWO perfect season's and NC game hopes in 3 years now. They are the program we need to emphasize.

The MSU game is the only one I'll give you on an offense 'struggling' - as I mentioned above, 5 WR's out and a below average game plan to say the least. It happens - it sucks, you learn and you move on but one thing you have to say is that they did in fact learn.....adjustments were made and the next week it was a different showing.

They still had Michael Thomas and Braxton Miller as WRs, along with one of the highest draft-rated TEs in Nick Vannett. Not to mention an OL that was expected to be the best in college football and a Heisman-candidate RB. And yet scored 17 points in three quarters against a Hawaii defense that was #105 in scoring defense and #106 in total defense. We scored 20 points against NIU...here are the teams the scored more against NIU than we did: UNLV (30), Murray State (26), Central Michigan (29), Ball State (41), Eastern Michigan (21), Toledo (27), Buffalo (30), Ohio (26), and Bowling Green (34). Eastern fucking Michigan scored than we did.

Last year we scored 42+ points in 11 of our 15 games (73%). This year we scored 42+ points in 4 of 12 games (33%). Last year we scored 49+ points in seven games (47%). This year we scored 49+ points once (8%).

The only major adjustment all year long was when Warriner was moved from the sidelines up to the booth, which resulted in the wholesale obliteration of one of the nation best rush defenses.

There was a shuffle all offseason and then the steady profession during the season. If you are going to lay the offensive performance all at Beck's feet and ignore this, well then you and I can just agree to disagree.

Michael Thomas, stud WR. Braxton? An offensive threat, but let's not pretend he was a bonafide WR starter. You're still missing 3 starters anyway you shake it.

Are we going to keep crying about how we only scored 20 against NIU? Guess what Mili....they won! Yes, news flash....we all agree that was a pretty bad offensive game for us. You will be the first to hand Eastern Michigan an award for scoring more points than we did because all things are equal apparently.
