Tim Beck (HC Coastal Carolina)

Not really. Ohio State could have won the MSU game if Bauserman wan't put in the game, but Miami beat us pretty soundly, and we were leading Nebraska 27-6, and lost, which isn't really an offensive problem

Apparently you didn't watch that game. Nebraska made their comeback only after Miller got hurt and was out the rest of the game (and thus we didn't score after he was hurt).
yeah Mili's dead on with this one. this game is the fastest I've ever gotten drunk.....not in a fun/good way.

I watched the game. IMO, there is no excuse for losing a 21 point lead like that, regardless of what is going on with the offense. But I'm a defense guy, so what do I know?

You think that game was lost because of the defense? A 21 point lead at halftime doesn't mean shit when it's a completely different offense that goes back out there....one that's in capable of doing anything. I don't care how good your defense is if your offense isn't even trying.

I watch that game in its entirety and was not concerned , even when Braxton went down. But then when Bauserman started throwing balls all over kingdom come, I knew and could feel a change coming in the game from us to Nebraska. It caught us off guard and we had a tough time
getting back to how we played in the 1st half. But do-do occurs I guess.

IIRC, Braxton got hurt after Nebraska scored to make it 27-13. I also seem to recall the PA system playing "Yakey Sax" while our offense was out there after Bauserman took over...

It was the biggest comeback in Nebraska history. The defense should have done it's job. It isn't like Miller was the star tackler too.

I'm disappointed that there could be this much talk about that game without a single picture of the Bauserman passing chart. Shame.....Shame.....Shame

Nebraska's history book means shit. Nebraska was down only two scores when Braxton got hurt. It's hard for the defense to "do it's job" when the offense subsequently gets 49 yards on four drives and goes 1 for 10 passing with an INT.

You're high if you think we lost that game because of the defense. This is the most absurd argument since you contrarians tried to tell the board that maybe it wasn't Beck's fault that we started sucking balls on offense the second he was hired and we went nuts the second he had play calling duties taken away.

This is crazy talk Wham to say Urban is atalking a crossroad here... the dude has won like 90 percent of his games here, won a title, won the big ten, won our division a number of times and has broken records both on the field, in the classroom, and on the recruiting trail and yet we are at a cross road? IMO Urban has got a fan for life from me. Doesn't matter if he doesn't win another title In the 10 years or so he may still be coaching I will always be a fan.

No doubt Beck probably wasn't a good idea. No doubt we struggled on offense this season but I'm putting my vote of confidence in Urban. The defense was broke his first two years so what's he do? He fixed it. I expect the same from Urban in regards to the offense now. It's not broke but it definitely needs refining.

I'd love to see Urban pick a OC though and see it through. I do think Beck probably needs to be replaced but even Beck was learning the system this year who's to say he doesn't get better?

The one change I want Urban to make is to put the same emphasis he puts on scum onto sparty. Create count down clocks (like BP), refuse green everywhere (maybe just the week of), and get these players a living hatred for that program. They are the ones who's ruined TWO perfect season's and NC game hopes in 3 years now. They are the program we need to emphasize.
OCs don't generally 'learn' a system. An OC is supposed to 'design' a system. You often see a drop off after an OC change because the players are learning the new system. If Beck spent his year trying to learn Urban's system, that's a big problem. Beck needs to come in and add to the existing system, take what worked and then add his own spin to it. If he was just supposed to learn the system, then he was a QB coach and they just told him he was the OC. The last 3 years was a mix of Urbans and Hermans systems. This year was Beck trying to run Hermans system.
