Top fun/interesting things to do in/around Columbus

I liked the suggestions for Buckeye Cafe and on campus where you can see all the trophies. Good one. I can't believe the first Wendy's EVER closed. You're telling me fat boy Dave Thomas couldn't use it as a loss-leader to keep something interesting downtown?

what about Elevator? Is it still open? They had tasty brews. Someone told me Hoster's closed also. That's a drag.

Thanks, BuckeyeTillIDie.

I guess I forgot to mention a few of my own:

Odd/Weird/Other
40 degrees north of the equator goes right through campus next to the main library. There's a marker on the north side of the library.
Mirror Lake (campus)
Two-headed stuffed cow at the Ohio Historical Society
(F) A-R-T Sculpture - Gay street next to CCAD
First Wendy's EVER

Dining/Nightlife
Blue Danube Restaurant/Bar (north campus/clintonville)
Larry's Bar (campus)
Out-R-Inn (campus)
Hey Hey (bar east of German Village)
Wexner Center's Performance Space (best sound quality for live music I've ever heard...and I've heard a lot)
Kahiki Restaurant (ok...it's closed, but the peeps moved over to Tropical Bistro)

Outdoors
Alum Creek (mountainbiking, hiking)

Museum/Historical
Jack Nicklaus Museum
COSI
Central Ohio Fire Museum
Santa Maria replica (Scioto River)

Sports/Entertainment
Ohio Stadium (any season, but best on select Saturdays in the fall)
Site of first Ohio State football game (right down the street from the Hey Hey - see nightlife section)

Main library is currently under construction so I doubt that sign is still there. And as mentioned before, the first ever Wendy's closed last year or something.

Your night life suggestions are pretty outdated! Head to Arena District area for mid to late 20s crowd, Short North area for late 20s+, and South Gateway for I'm now 21 crowd.

Well, in Dave's defense, he is kind of dead these days. :)

You can kill two birds with one stone at the Columbus Zoo. First it is a Columbus Landmark, and Mr. Katt highly recommends the picnic area when he is feeling especially Randy.

Hi all. As I don't make it back to Cbus very often, I am hoping to take full advantage of my next trip 'home.' I'm putting together a list of the best things to do in Cbus. I'm also going to keep this running list for friends that aren't from Ohio, but occasionally visit Columbus. Some items are obvious (Ohio Stadium on Saturdays in the fall, COMFEST in mid/late June, etc.). I'm hoping to find some things that are available year around, but don't want to limit it.

Here are some categories:

Odd/Weird

Dining/Nightlife

Outdoors

Museum/Historical

Sports/Entertainment

Anyone care to contribute a few ideas?

I've heard that going to strip clubs with Daytonbuck is always an exciting time.....
