tOSU -1.5 at Wisconsin (ov/un 114.5) Sat 2 ET, ESPN

Good grief there were some awful calls by the refs. Sully was clearly in position but was called for a blocking foul to give Taylor and and-1. Craft got whistled for some extremely ticky tack calls - I guess Wisconsin was the only team that was allowed to play tough position defense in this one. Craft boxes Taylor out under the basket, Craft falls down and gets called for a foul? Ball goes off Wisconsin fingertips, ball out of bounds to Wisconsin. Smith called for an offensive foul when Badger player clearly flops. Then the "jump ball" at the end where they reached around Sully to try to foul him?!? The refs were trying to give Wisconsin as many opportunities to get back in the game as they could. The game won't be officiated like that in Columbus, that's for sure. And despite all the extra chances Bucky still couldn't muster enough offense to make it a one possession game at the end. The Badgers really miss Jon Leuer - people forget he was their go-to scorer and OSU was keying on him last year in Madison and as much as anything that really helped Taylor and others get open 3s. They still got a lot of good 3-point looks but weren't shooting them well at all.

Since the good guys won and I can't be accused of sour grapes, let me just say now that I'd rather listen to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad speak than watch Ed Hightower officiate an OSU basketball game.
I bet the radical Islamic leader at least can tell a charge from a block.

Wow, there are some semi-reasonable Badger fans...Bucky32, how many different names do you have on there?
I never make my way over there. Good to see there's some people over there to quell the knee-jerk reactionists. Sullinger played a helluva game. Hats off to him.

Watched this on the DVR last night (my son's team played in their league's championship game yesterday at 1pm). What a poorly officiated game, but the guys seemed to respond in the right way. Glad my feeling about this game was wrong.

Couple of things that stood out to me:

DT's overall game has improved nicely since the beginning of the year. He still has some big lapses on D, but not nearly as many now. I think he is going to come up big in the tournys.

Buford seems to be pressing to hard at times (with his shots) and that seems to me why he has somewhat fallen off in production the past couple of games. Maybe the pressure of being the lone senior on this squad is making him put so much on himself? He still came up big in clutch time, though, and that is what counts.

Anyway, this team is fun to watch with the amount of talent that is on the floor. We are definitely being spoiled by Thad and his killer recruiting right now.

why any blue chip player would choose wisconsin and bo ryan's system is beyond me. as i've stated before, the badgers' ceiling is "good." they will never be truly great. they can't be. as a wisconsin fan, i would be so frustrated knowing that my coach will never swing for the fences.

Reminds me a lot of the frustration with Jim O'Brien's teams.
