That is an awful excuse. No offense. You're right, they are playing against other players of similar talent. Something tells me that if they get to the NFL, they will also be playing against athletes of the similar caliber.

That sounds like the people who used to say "our second string could start on 100 teams in football".

What do you mean an awful excuse? He wasn't playing against 11 D1a athletes in high school. He was out-talenting every player on the field. The idea that he comes to Ohio State and is going to out-talent people is laughable. The talent must be coupled with experience. He has none.

I have to think the wind is really effecting the passes; Illinois is only 6-12 with only a 3.8 yards per catch. And Illinois can actually pass the ball.

And a lot of that came on one play.

Nevermind - it's clearly the COACHES fault and we need to post repeatedly our disgust for developing QBs over and over and over and over and over....

I think some of you need to back away from the keyboards a bit.

No the passing offense isn't crisp, but there's a lead in a tough place to play historically. Keep the faith.

Amen.

We are 3-3. Illinois is 6-0. We're leading at their place at halftime, and we've struggled there when we've had better teams.

Just win, baby.

If they threw some short passing plays in there the wind might not be such a problem...

So they gun the ball downfield with Bauserman in, but keep Braxton shackled.

I can see wanting to establish the run in a windy/bad weather game, but sheesh.

Lets Go Bucks. Come out swinging in the 2nd half!

I think the difference in what we see as the play is more on who the QB is vs. the playcall itself.

Sure they are more conservative with Braxton in there, but half of the time he's only seeing the rush and not downfield. Bauserman sees the rush and his receiver sometimes, but he's too turnover-conscious and throws it away too easily. Not to bash at all - it is what it is.

Young QBs won't execute the plays the same as an older player would, even one as inexperienced as Bauserman is. It's something this fanbase is going to have to deal with for a year or so.
