So interested to see how we play NDs offense. You have to stop the run but you have got to prevent the big play.

I wonder if this is the game where we play a little heavier? Maybe a third LB or Melton at Jack? I don’t like the matchup of their OL and Estime running vs a 6 man box that’s for sure.

I don’t think the ND offensive line can handle our DL all game so it’s a matter of just not allowing scores. Really hope we aren’t overly aggressive between the 20s and we just let our guys play. Really concerned we go too aggressive like the game last year.

Personally, I consider Styles a 3rd LB.
My guess is that he’s in the game as the base with just the two CBs.
If they need to go more jumbo than that, we’ll have problems with Hartman.

See I don’t think we’ll struggle with their skill regardless whether we play with 3 safeties or 2. I think this is a game we can play with 3 LB and 4 in the secondary.

I’m a bit worried that Styles is a bit too light…. But we’ll see!

Ohio State vs Notre Dame Who Will Win
Notre Dame didn’t necessarily play stall ball, but it was able to grind down the tempo, stay alive in the 2022 season-opener - it was 10-7 Irish at halftime - and kept everything in range against a superpower offense that came within a missed field goal of almost certainly winning the national title.

It’ll be relatively low scoring, but in a different way.

It won't be a back-and-forth firefight with these two defenses, but Notre Dame has the offense to not just keep up the pace, but potentially be even more explosive and better if Ohio State’s performance last week was a mirage. But this is when the Buckeye defense will shine.

It’ll be a tough game for a while with everything settling down after a hot start for the Irish offense, and then Ohio State QB Kyle McCord will start spreading it around well, the running game will do its part, and then the chances will come.

Like last year, Notre Dame will have the lead at halftime. And like last year, Ohio State will start to push back in the second half.

It won’t be pretty, but the Buckeye defense will hold on late in a strong win.

It’ll be hardly impressive enough to assume the offense will rock going forward, but the Irish D will have something to do with that.

I was thinking a bit as I always do lol…

The guys have to be tired of hearing how good ND is at OL, RB and QB. For the first time in a very long time our offense isn’t the one being talked about (outside of Marv).

That can’t be sitting well with the OL, RB and QB rooms at Ohio State. Certainly not with Ryan Day.

I think those rooms are going to be ultra motivated to prove a point tomorrow night.

Golden on Ohio State Transfer Javontae Jean-Baptiste

“First of all, he's been a blessing for us. Everything that we've asked him to do, he's done. And we've asked him to do a lot of tough things. In addition to playing some 9-technique, we’ve asked him to go and play some 6-technique, and he's done that. We've asked him to change some techniques in terms of taking on blocks, and he's done that. He's pursuing to the ball really well. Everything we've asked him to do, he's done, and I think we're benefiting from it and I think his individual performance is benefiting from it.

“He's getting five tackles a week or whatever. He's impacting the game. He's hustling to the ball., and I couldn't be more happy for him. But he's just doing his thing. He's not worried about anything right now. He's just trying to get better today.”

Yeah, the coaches and players are fired up for this one.

just all the buzz for the offense is about ND. Very surprising considering our reputation there.

I wouldn’t be surprised if you see the best performance in a very long time. Then again I wouldn’t be surprised to see us struggle and then Turtle up either.

Day just has to do what he says we need to do which is let it rip. He knows that’s what we need to do and he can’t be half in and half out. Stick to the plan and play aggressively on offense.

I’ve been getting ready for this game. Watched the ND-Tennessee State game, the 1995 matchup (Terry Glenn is still running, RIP), and last year’s matchup.

The only team that’s more enjoyable for me to watch the Buckeyes beat is the Vulvarines.

Let‘s keep the Buckeyes undefeated against the Domers in my lifetime, say 31-24.
