However, at the same time, why would Urban be so upset during pressers about the performance while holding things back?

Urban was unhappy in pressers during both spring and fall practices before any games existed. Its just his demeanor. He is the opposite of Jim Tressel where you would never really know how a coaching staff was feeling about the team because of his vanilla and "glass half full" attitude after a game. If anything, its harder to read Urban than Tressel because he wants you to believe he is pissed off and unhappy.

I think we as non-coaches, are more critical to the game after games like this than the coaches are. I like what Coach Withers said after playing UAB, eluding that he only gives a damn about what the points on the scoreboard say. I agree, its all that matters at the end of the day. We can critique all day long but the players will never hear us, and neither will the coaches because we are all just merely fans. You can sit on your couch, re-watch the regional broadcast of the game, play coach and blog - but at the end of the game we won. A win is a win because no one will remember this game and the plays 3 weeks from now. Lets just be happy about a damn win.

I personally don't care if Braxton throws two picks and a fumble as long as he has 3 TD's and the team wins against Michigan State. With our stable of running backs, Braxtons talent, a good defense, and a solid coaching staff - we beat MSU and the Buckeyes get their swagger back.

Bucks - 31

MSU -17

Unfortunately, I think that MSU 20 tOSU 17 is a more likely outcome from what we have seen so far. My heart reverses that score, but I think these young Buckeyes will have to dig a lot deeper than they have so far.

Are you serious? Did you just say its best for the Buckeyes to lose? What the hell?
I doubt anyone is rooting for the Bucks to lose, but sometimes a good ass kicking can be the best thing for group of younger guys. See: 2004, Iowa.

For this week...I expect 30+ carries for Bell and, hopefully, a stacked box to shut that down and force Maxwell to beat them throwing the ball. I think it's going to be an ugly, ugly game that finishes something like 17-13. I'll say the Bucks come out on top.

Before Nathan's comeback, the 4 defensive linemen were basically tackles.

Bennett may be back this week.

It doesn't get much better than this.

Also, middle linebacker Curtis Grant was born to stop the run. That is his strong suite.

Also, the strength of the UFM offense is being able to deal with defenses that excel against the run.

It should be a game.

I dont know about you but I call the entire last season an ass kicking....
The guys shouldnt need to get theyre asses kicked again to be motivated.

Hoping for anything less than a perfect season is insane. Dont fear the players mentality...mold theyre mentality. Thats the coaches job, I trust Urban can do that.

I do wish the B1G was stronger this year though.

Buckeyes: 24
Mich St.: 17

Miller > Maxwell Bucks Win Ugly Fans Unhappy again..

If the Bucks win, count me as happy. Ugly or not. This game is a coin flip for me. Wouldn't be surprised on any outcome of the game. Close game, blowout, home team, or away team. I just want to see some toughness and consistency. I just want to see some good old fashioned Buckeye football basically.

Iowa 2004 was a case of having the wrong QB on the field. I seriously doubt that that is the case in 2012.

I can't figure out MSU except to say that their offense can't do squat. I also can't imagine that our defense isn't close to ND calibre. It might be close, but give me the bucks by 10.

Buckeyes go to East Lansing and knock the shit out of Sparty 45-10 in the first revenge game of the season. The rest of the BIG cringes as the Buckeyes finally awaken from a year and a half slumber. Brent will declare that the Buckeyes will be very dangerous in 2013. Herbie will get dangerously close to breaking espin rules when his Buckeye pride starts to show.

Hey, it has to happen sometime..It is THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY we are talking about after all.

First time we're not favored. Hopefully that will be all we need.

Although with our offense, and lack of defense, I'd take the over on that score. (meaning I could easily see MSU putting up 14, and we staying at our usual 30.)
