Game Thread tOSU at Wiscy, Nov 17th, 3:30 ABC

Well I must say the defense played with a ton of heart. It wasn't perfect, they gave up yards, but when they needed a stand for the most part they stood firm.

The offense? WTF was that. More Carlos, less Braxton when the team your playing is flying there safties up as soon as the ball is snapped. This looked so similar to Tressel Ball, it was like they just didn't want to screw things up. By playing so tight they almost lost us the game.

I kept saying "well if we can score here the game is over" and time and again we'd go 3 and out to give them the ball right back.

We better practice what they did to us on offense because I think any Defensive coordinator worth a damn is going to do a lot of the same stuff we saw today. To say the least very disappointed with every aspect of the offense today.

1st down-Braxton keeper for 1 yard
2nd down- Short pass either incomplete or for 4 yards
3rd down-Sack or Rushed into a Incomplete.

Every drive looked about the same. I think for the most part we by all rights should've lost this game but sometimes it's better to be lucky. This game shouldn't have/didn't have to be this close though.

No one has any business talking [Mark May] whatsoever about the defense tonight.

I'm going to harp on this all night long but when your defense gets you a GOAL LINE TURNOVER WITH 2:40 LEFT IN THE GAME, it's your job as an offense to get 10 freaking yards to put the game away.

The offensive gameplan was honestly horrible.

Welcome back to the booth Jim Bollman!!! (sorry, that's what it felt like)

This game goes to Mickey Marotti. As long as our defense was in there, they should not have been able to hang in there as long as they did. I hate these type of games, but I guess I'll take it. Go Bucks! F*** Wisconsin! and Get ready tSUN because Urban's going to get our boys ready to kick your @$$!!!!!

Defense played with the heart of a Champion. They did give up some yards but holding UW to 14 pts when the game went into overtime is pretty impressive. Simon and Shazier are both beasts. Really gonna miss Johnny when he leaves.

The Offensive playcalling was the worst I've seen in the Herman era at tOSU. We all have bad days and this was his. It was clear that Wisky was pulling out the stops to keep Braxton contained and it worked supremely. Hyde was getting good yards all game long and scored two TD's running the ball. I was very disappointed and frustrated in the refusal to let Hyde carry the load.

In the end, the better team won. And that would be THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY.

11-0 baby!!

Bring on the skunkbears

:oh:

I hope they just spent all that time during the bye working on scUM gameplan. Hence the close game in cheese town.

I hate to be 'that guy' that complains following a win, but where were those pistol/pro set formations with Hyde and Smith in the backfield at the same time? Frustrating to watch Braxton running around in circles with Yakkety Sax playing in the background when there are other studs available to carry the ball.

Anytime you can go up to Madison and return with a win, it's a good day. Our offense was anemic, but our defense didn't give up any big plays and made some big plays for us when we needed them. We got solid special teams play, especially with that punt return. Great effort by our guys!
