lol it wasn't hard to determine as I was a defensive lineman.. the two guys bigger than me were WAY bigger, and everyone else was way smaller.. it wasn't hard to pick us 3 guys out...
Just to make sure, you are talking about 3rd biggest is stature and not other things. That would be an uncomfortable shower time for all on the team.

Whether it's Pitcock or Carpenter or whoever, you line up the entire team and deliver the sock to the gut of the offender. Just like they did in Full Metal Jacket.

Yeah, because that ended so well.:roll1:

(I hope that is meant in a more figurative manner. I will assume it is before I get up on my soapbox and bitch about what a ridiculous idea it is.)

I think you miss the point they are trying to make..

It doesn't matter if he was caught with a damn leaf... or 2 leaves, a joint or a dumptruck full of pot...

He should have took careful notice of his friend being arrested, and decided to at the very least not do it for a while...
I know the point you are trying to make but me thinks Skeete will get the book thrown at him. He wasn't caught with just a joint, he was selling it. In my opinion Skeete is gone and should be.

Now, while I think Haw was stupid for even touching the stuff right after a fellow player got arrested for dealing. You cannot add to the punishment just because of the timing. I am also not saying you don't punish Haw. I am sure he will be put through counseling and tons of in-team training punishments and maybe a game or two suspension. But the calls for him to get kicked off the team in my humble opinion are extreme until all the details are brought forward.

I will tell you where it ends...with coaches being fired and athletic directors cleaning house.

16 players have been arrested in the Tressel era....if this continues....the era will come to end.
look at other schools, penn state had a number in the teens arrested between the first day of practice and bowl season, iowa has more, reference the legal blotter thread, no excuses a line needs drawn and skullls cracked

According to Steve H in his chat...Haw lit up a joint outside of his dorm and was nonchalantly smoking it on the street.

I just punched myself in the face again. Forget the arrest's, that cocky asshole will make every student hate the players too acting like that.

New Position

There is nothing more to punish Haw than what he is going through right now. It is sad that at this point the team would need to call a meeting to explain the consequences of their decisions. Perhaps Tressel should have his current players visit Izzy in jail to start and understand the nature of their decisions. They are 18/19 years old treated like Royalty and on their own for most likely the first time in life. Haw will get his punishment, Tressel will get his fair amount of criticism but ultimately it is the decision the people on this team need to make going forward. I am sure that Tressel, assistant coaches, AD's are stressing the importance of good decision making but they can not attach a camera and watch every player all the time through the internet. Life lesson and we need to get behind the coach and the players once again because they are going to need their fans more than ever to get their goals done this year. Remember our current and past president have admitted to doing the same thing during their years. Not that makes it acceptable but reacting irrationally would not necessary do anything to correct the problem.

Is it because of Tressel? Or is it just the era we are in. Are things not being covered up before that once were swept under the rug under "they are only kids" stuff.

Alot of other schools are dealing with the same issues. With recruits coming in with more and more press they feel even more invincible. Times are messed up, some kid a couple of days ago set off a pipe bomb in a school up here in Cleveland. Just the sign of the times unfortunately.

It is not if Tressel just lets it go on. He kicks off players and suspends them and other stuff that we don't know about. They are not getting off scott free. He at least acts on it. That is all we can ask.

I understand this happens all over but with the climate we find ourselves in at OSU....something needs to change.

According to Steve H in his chat...Haw lit up a joint outside of his dorm and was nonchalantly smoking it on the street.
You have to be joking.....
