tOSU @ Northwestern, Sat Nov 5, 12pm, ABC

Well, it's next to impossible to have your best team every single week. That said these guys have to realize that we will be seeing the other teams best team every single week. Focus, mental toughness and energy has to be on point from the opening kickoff until the final whistle.

Style points do matter regardless what anyone says and we got none today but the W was the most important thing. Most, if not all, the pundits will only look at the stats and the final score and disregard the weather and just chalk it up to "Ohio State being overrated." Well, the only way to make them eat those words are to bring it every week. Bounce back against Indiana

I'll say this once today since everyone knows how I feel. I will not repeat this again guys but...

This football team will lose vs ttun if we play as we have for the last 3 weeks. We'll get bled to death for 5 ypc and lose by 2 scores.

Thankfully the games at home and we should be motivated. However I'm not personally going to feel good about that game.

That game in 3 weeks will be about stopping the run and gosh I just don't know.

Yeah, the wind doesn’t prevent the OL from firing off the ball. NU wasn’t even loading the box. By the 4th qtr their DL should be so warn down that the Bucks can just march it straight down the field. No running side-to-side, no dancing around. Just ground and pound. I’m always told that’s what the OL loves to do and what is most demoralizing to the D.

In the coach’s show this morning (Game Time with Ryan Day) they had an interview with Justin Frye. They had shots from practice and he was talking about having all these highly rated players who want to be taught and want to get better. This is supposed to be a strength of our team. Why aren’t we seeing it?

Zone blocking schemes don't "fire off the ball"...the first step is usually either lateral or at a 45-ish degree angle.

Zone blocking schemes like what Ohio State's base set is comprised of are disrupted by blitzes and hard slants by the defensive front 7.

That's what we've seen the last 3 weeks. If CJ is going to start pulling the ball every once in a while, that will open things up immensely.

If the passing game isn't clicking I can see that as a problem in that game.

Precisely. They either get better and it takes care of itself, or it doesn't matter.

It's not like they're playing for favorable seeding. Should OSU win out in solid fashion, they won't get any favors in the rankings. They'll stack the deck to avoid an SEC rematch before the final.

It sure will be fun if only one of the Big 2 gets to win ugly in the B1G. Michigan has done that often this year.

I don't know. If they end up at #2 they play an SEC team in Atlanta, if they're #3 they play an SEC team in Phoenix, iirc.
