tOSU Recruiting Discussion

With the departure of Wood, Griffin, and Thomas, we are at 77, with 13 SRs moving on. That's 18 spots. With the likely departure of Roby, Shazier and Miller, that's 21 spots. Murray's suspension sounds like a delay tactic for him to find another program, so that's 22 spots already. No confirmation on Rashad Frazier's scholarship status yet. So most likely we'll have a couple more attrition before next Feb. to support a total class size of 24-25.

I think spots are held for the Glenville duo, McMillian, Prince and Holley (who should decide soon). The last two ships would probably go to a WR (Noah Brown?) and a sixth OL (Mavety?). Seems like they are dead set on taking a JUCO OL so Mavety's spot might be held as well.

2013- Heuerman (Jr), Vannett (So), Baugh (Fr)
2014- Heuerman (Sr), Vannett (Jr), Baugh (So)
2015- Vannett (Sr), Baugh (Jr)

That's all provided Baugh doesn't get redshirted this year. They can still wait until the 2015 class for a TE (not saying they will).

Meyer wont run a 2 TE system with only 3 TEs.

As Wad or Grad (can't remember which one) stated before: there is no way a Glenville kid, with an offer, is left out. Unless he decides elsewhere - which I don't think will be the case.

Theres definatley way, its Urban Meyer not Jim Tressel. Meyer has been known to let kids go before that are pipeline kids, he's not going to make an exception for Glenville.

Then he'll adapt to the personnel he has.....

Lattimore and/or Smith aren't getting left out, if they want in.....

I doubt it. i think Smith is as good as O-U-T. just no room at the Inn with the new need for a TE.

I still cant stop laughing that Meyer is going to change his offense just to fit erick smith into the class.

Well this didn't go very well, huh?

So then clearly they're going to abandon all of their 2 TE sets they've been working on all spring, summer and fall, right?

Darron Lee is not a safety.
im not sure how many Safeties you think we need
The last time people talked like that was at the end of the last decade, yet they never actually had that much usable depth in any given season.

Hm turns out this is just Glenville planet and not Buckeyeplanet, who would have thought?
No this is BuckeyePlanet, where fans pay attention to how Glenville is treated. Your suggestion that they're going to play games with Erick Smith's "offer" and risk ticking off Glenville (who has become very chummy with UM) makes no sense.
If they really aren't thrilled with him there are ways to let OSU get out recruited, but leaving him out? Not in a million years.
well i see no reason to return to this site, good thing for 11W
A potshot at BP while also congratulating 11W on getting you back? Nice.

Two years ago, Noah Spence seemed headed to Penn State. Things cracked up, Urb got involved and OSU ended up with a tremendous DE. Last year Dontre Wilson was headed to Oregon, Kelly left, Urb got involved and we got one of the best playmakers in the country. I will almost be disappointed if there is no last minute drama with a huge recruit this year.

If there is one thing UM showed at Florida, it is that high school positions are almost irrelevant (within reason) and that makes me think everyone should ignore the recruiting sites, let the man recruit and trust that he'll get the right athletes in the class and find positions for them later. I think back to Joe Haden, who played S and QB in high school, came in as an ATH and got drafted as a CB. Would anyone be shocked if Hubbard wound up at TE or if any of the S recruits moved to LB, CB, or WR?

I suggest we all let the recruiting process play out and concentrate on what the on-field product looks like because the behind-the-scenes stuff is impossible to predict.

Throw JT Moore into the mix as he has been moved to TE from DE.
